Jordan Henderson

Henderson will be a great signing, made up with this.

If we somehow manage to sell them Ngog for 7 mill, then Comolli has done a FANTASTIC job.

where did those come from Binny? I used the amount of chances created to shut a united supporting mate up on facebook but he reckons ssn have him down for just 39 chances

excellent, thanks Binny ;D

This £13m plus n'gog equals £20m is a bit odd. Couldn't we just say we valued n'gog at £100m so the deal is "worth" £113m? What does it matter?

Gibson is shit and Brown is fit for about a month every season.

and when he's fit he's a liability

It matters because it's in effect a negotiating ploy, along the lines of "If you were to buy our Player X, or someone of similar standard, you'd expect to pay £Y million, so please take that off the price for your guy and we'll let you have him."

We should have said n'gog was worth 100m then. henderson and 80m please fathead

The only issue is of course how much actual cash was paid, all the other valuations of Ngog are just illusionary.

Something tells me that might have been seen as a dealbreaker. ;D

The views I've gotten outside this forum is that whilst Jones looks the absolute real deal, no one can understand the fuss over Henderson.

Hmmm.

yep, i get that impression, we've paid over the odds for a distinctly average player whilst united are getting englands future john terry. i cant really remember either player from much of the season, just complilation videos, but they both look pretty good, only time will tell i suppose. it doesnt matter how good a player is though, only how well they fit into a team, just look at torres at chavski

Fantastic deal. Of course very sad to see Hendo go his creativity and stamina were fantastic but everybody has a price and bringing Ngog the other way is a stroke of genius. No I haven't lost my mind stats speak for themselves he has a better goals to game ratio than Berbatov and the same as Defoe also his shots on target ratio is the same as Bent and Tevez and better than the likes of Drogba, Carroll, Van Perse and Suarez! If he keeps at that rate and gets first team chances and add a partnership with Gyan we could be seeing one of the best striking partnerships of the season! Can anybody remember what happened last time Sunderland bought a big clubs 4th choice striker...???

hahahahahaa foolish fans

Nah, from proper match going fans (not Utd or Liverpool).

I don't really know that much about either player although I do recall Jones putting in one or two decent defensive players (they still lost though).

Time will tell as said.

Yeah, I've not seen enough of either to make a judgement, other than knowing that Jones has been highly rated for a few years now, whereas I'd barely even noticed or heard much about Henderson. According to Youtube he looks like he's got a bit of class and an eye for a first time ball, but there's a world of difference between that and playing everyweek for a top club.

I'm a bit perplexed really but hopefully I'll be more excited when I see what we're getting in the key areas of the team that really need addressing.

I've read some awell, and some Sunderland fans claim he's their biggest talent since Todd 30-40 years ago.

Henderson averages a goal a game for England U-21 and has played 70 of Sunderlands last 76 Premier League games, and is 20 years old.
The fuss is that he's a great talent imho.

It would have been interesting to see what the media had written if Utd had signed him.

i'd heard of jones for a couple of years, but i'd not really thought of him as a 15m+ player at all. He's looked good when he's played, but i'm not 100% he'll be a success story at utd

Fair point that. If the transfers were reversed attitudes in the media probably would be too.

One thing I am excited about is that it's the first time in a longtime where we've got ALOT of young players (say 22 and younger) fighting for a place in the first team.
