Jordan Henderson

Is there a promise land beyond Jordan?

We may have to cross over to find out whether the giants can be defeated.

Or that we may feel like grasshoppers still.

I know zero about this lad , i can only go on what my mackem mate says :

"let me sum him up. if the team playing well he doesn't misplace a pass and looks the part. If the team playing bad he cant win the ball, head or play a single decent ball"

So sounds like has the potential but needs some work ...but that fair enough for a 20/21 yr old .

Good signing. Still young, and if things dont work out we can sell for a premium too because he's English. Obv would rather things work out and chances are they should as he's a pretty good player.

Besides Wickham, any other young English/British/Irish talent we can sign?

Questions: loss of Ngog suggests confident on Wickham, yep. Think #LFC will sign 8: Henderson, Doni, Enrique, Adam, Downing, Marveaux +2
+2 what?
Apparently we will be signing Marveaux with a strong +2 overall skill modifier.

As an aside, I would not be super happy if those were all our signings.

Comolli effectively doing the same thing he did at Spurs. Pay a premium for young English talent.

Some work, some don't. The ones that dont, you can still sell on for value.

This is a decent deal; I like Henderson, and N'gog's not going to play often so it works for everyone.

Good start to the summer.
Thanks for the insight. Fingers crossed he makes the grade.

We're actually pulled off a good deal here. I just hope the days of us being ripped off are well and truly behind us.

Whomever is negotiating for is is aces! Its a welcome change!

Skully's dog probably got bummed more gently than Sunderland on this deal.

To get him for 13m plus a player who had absolutely no value to us when they were looking for 20m is a cracking deal.

In some ways that describes the young Michael Laudrup as well.

*excitement increases*

Some of you are being WAY too harsh on N'Gog. He's not that bad at all.
you're being too kind. he is useless for us. i'm not saying he wont be a good signing for some other team but for us, he is not good enough
There's a difference between 'useless' and not good enough, he scored a fair few goals at the beginning of last season. He'll score goals wherever he goes, but ok, he'll never be top drawer. What did you expect for £1.5m?? He's surpassed expectations, been a model pro, never moaned and never let his head drop, unlike a few of his more experienced, more expensive team mates. Oh and we just effectively got £7m for him, giving us £5.5m profit in selling him on.

Yes, clearly 'useless'.

Agree with your both.

Mark speaks sense most of the time.

Most.

I actually had a soft spot for N'Gog and he developed his game a fair bit during his time at Liverpool.

He had moments of sublime control, usually followed by a pass to nobody. And some of his goals showed that he had decent instinct for finishing, he also got himself in the right position to have chances on goal.

Hope he goes on to score a few goals for Sunderland.

sunderland now officially confirmed a fee has been agreed, and that he'll travel for medical today. no mention of ngog yet, although that's presumably a formality as well.

Well said.

He came in as a young player and was never really intended to have the prominent role he ended up having. I hope he goes on to do well.

I don't know much about Henderson, but i'm now officially made up.

According to most we've signed a highly rated young lad and got rid of the new Anelka in the process. So first big deal looks done and in the very early stages of the summer as well......it's going to be an ace transfer window.

Same.

Not everyone can be Pele. NGog is clearly a good lad, and hopefully can carve out a good career for himself in a slightly less testing environment - he seems like he could be a late bloomer, so fingers crossed. All that said, apart from a few instances of quality he clearly isnt up to the calibre that we need.

The deal that has been done here for Henderson is fantastic business - im just not sure where Adam now fits in...

Fee agreed as per official site, now personal terms and medical which if aqua man can pass even the lame can. No mention of Ngog.

I wonder if we can get Lucas involved in the deal for Aguero?
Our PLAYER OF THE YEAR?!?!?!?

Now our formation will become 3-6-1 with surfeit of midfielders like SG, Lucas, Meireless, Shevey, Spearing, Jordan, Suarez, maxi, Cole, poulsen,

If the rumours are correct and it is 13M plus Ngog then i think it is a good bit of business... pleased with that. It is a gamble when you spend big on a young player but I'm a lot happier that it involves a player exchange instead of just 20M cash.

It will be a good move for Ngog also, he needs to play more and maybe will find his level there.

IF we can offload Cole, Jova and Aquilani pretty sharpish we should be well positioned to strengthen withou busting the books and get some good new players in into the bargain.

The deal if completed also leaves a nice little hole up front in the roster for our new superstar striker 😉

Did he just say roster?
*looks again*
he bloody well did! Wow

I think maybe kuyt might move into that gap and someone for the right might be purchased.. Maybe

He did get him

I suspect Kuyt will indeed be regarded primarily as a striker option from here on in, which IMO is fair enough. I just hope we do strengthen our right-side options to fill the gap. Attacking fullbacks are fine as far as they go, but I would not want that to be our main (let alone our only) wide attacking option on either wing.

Whats wrong with the word roster??

As in all players not just the 11 on the pitch no?

Nothing's wrong with it, mate. It's mainly an American term and some folk will dislike it because of that. Personally I couldn't give a f'ck about such things.
