Jeremy Menez

Liverpool have been encouraged in signing Jeremy Menez after Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc admitted defeat in keeping the winger at the French capital.
The 26-year-old has over six months left on his contract with the Ligue 1 champions and with Menez falling out of favour with PSG manager, it is unlikely that the France international will land a new deal at the club.
Brendan Rodgers has long been monitoring Menez and Liverpool were reportedly interested in signing him in the summer. However, no deal took place and the Metro reports that the Reds are set to come back with a bid in January to sign the winger.
"Menez? It's too late for him, it is the player who is in a strong position. Nothing prevents in continuing with PSG. But it is more difficult. It is to avoid this kind of things that clubs anticipate contract renewals," Blanc told Le10Sport.

Menez's was a regular inclusion in PSG's starting lineup last season under their former manager Carlo Ancelotti. He made 30 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring five goals and managing seven assist during the French club's title winning campaign.

However, after Blanc replaced the Italian manager, the former AS Roma man has seen his first team appearances restricted. He has made only four league starts this season and from the seven appearances in Ligue 1, Menez has managed to score two goals and register one assist in the domestic competition.
PSG are likely to allow the Frenchman to leave the club in January as they would be looking to cash in on the player in the winter transfer window rather than letting the winger leave for free after the end of the season.
Liverpool have Victor Moses on the wings and the Nigerian international is on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 22-year-old will be back with the Blues in the summer and a move for Menez could be the ideal replacement for Moses in the Reds' squad.
According to the Metro, Rodgers is likely to make a £5m bid in January for Menez's signature. Should PSG force him to stay in the French capital, the winger would leave the club next summer on a free transfer.

He is a bit good.

Bit of a nob too though

would be a very interesting free signing - quick, pacey, player with a decent eye for goal. I didn't realize he was 26 - kid was one of the hottest prospects in footy when he was younger.

He did stand out in the Euros, the few games they played anyway, looked one of their better players.

Dont watch the French league so fuck knows really.

Sent from my Rusty Bullet Hole using a big dollop of grease.

He was my big shout for a good value up'n'comer when he was still at Monaco.

He's not quite progressed as expected though and questionable whether he's got the right attitude to make the most of his talent. He'd be worth a punt at the right price but I'd be wary.

He'd be on big wages wouldn't he?

If we can get him for a reasonable cost we should be all over this. He may not be world elite but he's head and shoulders above every other wiger at the club
