Comoli is watching that Chamberlain kid at Southampton again.

He's scored again as well.
Some thoughts on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from a Southampton fan and someone who was apparently in Southampton's Academy, from couple of different forums:
"Saints STH here. Alex Chamberlain is s**t hot. He just gets better and better and will be another Bale type. I knew Bale and Walcott would make it big and AOC and Lallana will both follow.
"He can knock a balls beyond defenders and then leaves them for dead, he has lightning pace and has great delivery. He has what Walcott and Lennon both lack and thats natural ability. Walcott is injury prone"

Thanks for all the updates Ash. I just wanted to ask you a few questions as regards Chamberlain.
1) Is he as good as Walcott was at the same age and is he as quick as him?
2) What's his dribbling like? Does he rely on his pace to go past players or does he possess good skill and trickery to beat players?
3) In terms of his attributes what do you think is his best position? Can you see him taking up the wide position on a more permanent basis or do you see him moving back into cm long term?
4) Is he two footed?
5) If he moved to a premiership team do you feel he would be ready to start straight away?
Thanks for the positive feedback in response to your questions:
1) I was only about 10/11 when Walcott was at St Mary's so for me to compare both players from viewing them in the flesh would be inaccurate. I see Walcott as a fast player who uses his pace to go past players and try to get in to shooting opportunities more than cross the ball. Alex on the other hand does a bit of both , he tries to go down the wing and put a ball into the box and also is good at direct running into the box. Alex isn't as quick im afraid but he makes up for it in other areas of his game , Walcott was super hyped up and it seems Alex is going the same way and i view them with similar potential although Walcott was of course playing a league up.
2) It's more good skill and technical ability than speed and trickery to be fair , he does posses a good turn of speed but his ability is more basic.
3) It seems Adkins sees him more as a winger or a left/right midfielder , however at the moment i still feel he would be stronger in a more central attacking role at the moment but his future lies out wide.
4) From what I've seen yes , he's competent with both feet that's to say the least.
5) It depends what level premier league side he joins , if it's the chelsea's or Liverpool's like roumered it's going to be more of a Jonjo Shelvey role at Liverpool or a Delph at Aston Villa where it's pretty much bit part and not brilliant for player progression , but if it's a lower premier league side such as Wolves (Drew Surman went there and did poorly) then he will have a higher chance of playing. At the moment however saints seem to be holding onto him until at least the summer and if we do get promoted this season to the championship i can see him and Lallana (another of our wingers that's highly linked with premiership sides such as Fulham) staying for at least one more season.
