didn't we buy him then loan him out?

is snoogy doogy Adam Hammill?

€7m for Babel is a bit disappointing. I mean, I know he's shit and all that, but it's only a year ago that we turned down £9m from Birmingham.

Enquiring is good. Buying is better. This Lukaku does look like a serious prospect, but I'd like Suarez because I've actually seen him play and been impressed. Which isn't the best of reasons.
I'd like Suarez too, but Lukaku really does look the deal.
Even if we don't sign Lukaku, it's great to be linked to the premier young talent in the world.
Reminds me of the time that Everton bid 13M for Shearer after Newcastle had already had a 15M bid accepted by Blackburn. So close!

Was it the club or the player who killed the deal?

Rafa I think. We had a brutal injury list at the time from memory.
Yeh we had to rely on Torres and N'Gog upfront... oh...

Sport/Foot mag in Belgium claims #Lukaku has agreement to join #MCFC in July. Lawyers in Manc today, been working on deal for 15 days

If this is true, i've just about had enough of those cunts at City.

Maybe I'm dreaming but why would a team with Balotelli, Dzeko and Tevez sign an 18 year old striker? To back them up? Lukaku would be mental to go there ... I'm not saying we can offer him everything they can now ($, CL footy - probably etc) but at least with us he'll play and develop.

If it's not coming into play for another 3 years, maybe they're trying to get as much buying done before the "previous 3 year" rule comes in? It may lead to them easing off a lot after the summer. They can also sell off some of these players to boost their income over the next three years.

They'll most likely challenge uefa when the time is right an uefa will cave in.

I'm sure there will be plenty of other teams that will back them up

Some twitter folks seem to think that we have contacted Fulham about taking PK off our hands.

why would any club back them up? every big club stands to gain from the rules, relative to city.

i suppose city could bribe them, though.

For Anita ;D

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has reportedly fallen out with Cristiano Ronaldo and is now looking to leave the club.

Ramos, one of the world's best young defenders, has been at the Bernabeu since 2005 after joining around 27 million euros from Sevilla. But reports in Spain have suggested that he has clashed with Ronaldo in the dressing-room and stalled on negotiations over a new deal, in a bid to seal a move away.

The defender was a key part of Spain's success at the 2010 World Cup and has immediately been linked to Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Julien Laurens, a journalist with French paper Le Parisien, revealed the news on his Twitter account, saying: "I've been told that Sergio Ramos could leave #RealMadrid. He would be perfect at #arsenal. World class player who'll bring winning mentality."

Because it would allow the likes of real Madrid, barca, ac nilan& chelsea along with a few of those Russian clubs to continue to throw their cash about with gay abandon.

chelsea and abramovich have been finished with that for a while already. i'd suggest the likes of real and barca have more to gain from a rival like city being hamstrung than being allowed to overspend themselves. it's the clubs with the really huge turnovers like barca, real, man utd and arsenal who stand to gain most from these rules, because it makes their spending power that much harder to challenge.

Looks like the Warnock deal is nearly done, on loan until the summer.
Warnock > Konchesky and loves this club (I think), so LB will be an improvement.

If Aurelio is healthy, he should get the starts but Warnock is a good backup.

Let's hope this pushes GlenJo to right wing.
