January/summer targets

Surely Klopp is going to have to go into the market for a more senior forward in Jan? We've got Firmino and Mane currently to pick from, Lallana, Sturridge (always injured, not really trusted by Klopp for the system), Ings out injured, Origi and Ojo seen as juniors. And we lose Mane shortly too. I could understand a move for Pulisic as one for the future like Origi, but we need a goalscoring forward that fits the system.
Forget his age I think that's exactly what Pulisic is ... now.

We definitely need to buy a player in January.
I think we needed a player before everyone started getting injured so it's even more vital that we buy someone now.

Liverpool linked with £20 million January bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele

With Jurgen Klopp believed to be eyeing attacking reinforcements in January, Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has been mooted as a possible target.

Following long-term injury to both Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho, Klopp is believed to be considering adding another forward to his ranks in the winter transfer window.
Ings (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Coutinho (ankle) is not likely to return before 2017, with Sadio Mane then set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.
This would leave Klopp with few options to build his attacking line, which could see him look to add another body in January.
According to Scottish outlet Glasgow Live, this will see Liverpool present Celtic with a deal worth £20 million for France U21 international Dembele.
Dembele only joined Brendan Rodgers‘ side in June, but has proved effective in both the Scottish Premiership and in the Champions League.
In 27 games in all competitions this season, the 20-year-old has scored 17 goals and laid on three assists, including two strikes against Manchester City in September.
It is reported that Liverpool’s offer would be £10 million up front, with a further £10 million made up in add-ons, while Dembele would earn £60,000 a week.
Whether Klopp’s interest is genuine remains unclear, but Dembele would certainly be a strong addition to the Reds squad.

Previously with Fulham, Dembele is a lithe, direct centre-forward also capable of operating on the left flank, possessing the pace and power to drive at defenders on the ball.
He could slot into Klopp’s 4-3-3 in one of the wide forward roles, or as the German’s No. 9, filling in when Coutinho and Mane are absent.
However, Glasgow Live suggest “Klopp sees Dembele as an automatic pick,” which, given the competition already on Merseyside, seems highly unlikely.
Dembele is stylistically similar to Divock Origi, and would likely find himself vying with the Belgian for one of the backup roles in Klopp’s attack in the long term.
Roberto Firmino seems primed to hold the central role, given his importance to Klopp’s pressing system, flanked by Coutinho and Mane, but having Origi, Dembele and Daniel Sturridge among his rotational options would boost the 49-year-old’s prospects significantly.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Julian Brandt, Quincy Promes and Christian Pulisic in recent weeks, with a January move for another forward option very possible.

Both Witsel and Berahino have contracts expiring next summer. I'd sign both.

Berahino would definitely fit our system.

For some reason I have great confiudence in Klopp signings. They seem studied, certain and adapable. NO more of these "who knows" kind of signings.

there's a reason he's still at West Brom despite being available during however many transfer windows

On several of those occasions, he didn't leave because the interested clubs wouldn't pay what West Brom demanded, not because there was no interest.

well of course stoke city and Bolton and whoever are going to baulk at £20m signing's.

he's been playing with the u21s this season hasn't he ?

Meanwhile,

[article]Former Manchester United and Everton winger Andrei Kanchelskis has warned Liverpool against moving for Quincy Promes.

The Holland striker is in excellent form with Spartak Moscow and been linked with the Reds for next month. But Kanchelskis isn't so sure.

He told Sport-Express: "I don't think Promes is suitable for the game of Liverpool. Quincy has freedom in his game and he won't get that at Liverpool, I think..

"Anyway, (Sadio) Mané stands head and shoulders above Promes.

"I don't think Liverpool are really interested. It is a rumor and there it remains."[/article]

Scored the equalizer for Spartak against Rubin Kazan yesterday (won 2-1) before being sent off for 2nd yellow card

Premier League target Quincy Promes blotted his copybook for the first time ever, receiving a red card against Rubin Kazan'. Following the incident he had to be taken down the tunnel as he did not know that he wasn't allowed on the bench.

So we should definitely buy him then, right?

Ajax Amsterdam manager Peter Bosz has confirmed that star midfielder Riechedly Bazoer will leave the club in the January transfer window.

Bazoer, 20, has been left out of the squad for the Europa League game against Standard Liege on Thursday and has also lost his spot in the starting XI under Bosz this season. Having made his debut with the Ajax first team in 2013, the talented youngster has gone on to play more than 60 times for the Dutch Eredivisie giants, scoring seven times in the process.

Speaking to De Telegraaf ahead of Thursday's game, Bosz confirmed the news when he said, "After talks with Riechedly, I assume there is a big chance that he is not with this team anymore after the winter break.

"Against Standard I want to play young players so they can get used to this international level."

Bazoer will have no shortage of suitors with clubs like Barcelona, Roma, Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan all linked with a move for the Dutch international.

Riechedly Bazoer - 20 yrs old. Bit too young for what we need now no ? Maybe off to Italy but he looks excellent. Some seem to think Bazoer is a bit thick and a moaner when not playing*.

*just opinions and not mine since I know SFA about this lad.

A CB converted to midfielder. Basically Henderson's position ? Old videos (2014/15 season).

Cracking goal after 1 min.

What a fucking odd thing for him to say. Why would he warn us about anything unless he hates Promes or he sees himself as some sort of guardian angel for the PL?

[article]Liverpool are reportedly preparing a summer bid for 19-year-old Atalanta star Franck Kessie.

According to Corriere dello Sport, representatives from the Premier League club watched the Ivorian during Atalanta’s 2-1 victory over Roma in November, a game in which the youngster played 90 minutes and scored.

This has prompted the Reds to prepare a €22m offer for the midfielder, alongside a basic contract worth a reported €2.5m per season.

Juventus are also interested in Kessie, but Atalanta have made it clear that they want to hang on to their star youngster until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has made headlines this term, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 13 Serie A matches, helping his side mount a surprise charge to sixth in the standings.[/article]

I've never heard of him. Seems to play the same sort of positions as Bazoer going from Transfermarkt but is even younger. Scoring a few goals from there though.
