Jan Transfer Window (rumours, wishes, exists and formation change)

Good to see we bought those midfielders in the summer

I care not for this imposter and it is my passionate and heart-felt desire that we take him to a lay-by, let him out, under the pretence that a jolly good time would be had there, for one and all, only to drive away, abandoning him, as one would a kitten that one had tired of by Boxing Day.

Keep dreaming, it ain't happening. Keeping Melo beyond Jan means we have our lot of maximum foreign players.

Incorrect.

You’ll be delighted to know we have one spare overseas and one spare homegrown slot available in our Premier League squad.

You’ll be equally delighted to learn that Caicedo still qualifies as an U21 player this season.

Even more delightful is the Fernandez is also 21 and can be registered as an U21 this season.

So we theoretically could sign all 3 and Tielmans or Laimer in January if we so desired - and play them all in the league with Naby, Ox & Melo’s bodies in cold storage for when we need to chuck a dead body on the pitch to waste time.

Champions league squad might be a little bit more challenging - but I’m sure we could cull the right waste of space.

Actually… given Bellinghams age - we could also sign Declan Rice in January as well.

Id be confident if we signed Rice, Bellingham, Fernandez, Caicedo and either Tielemans or Laimer in January we might have solved our midfield issues for the next couple of years.

You're right it looks like the medical team has room for Konrad Laimer occupy the final bed.

We wouldn’t want the medical staff under utilised after Naby & Ox leave!!!
Leave? The club is so happy with their progress they've offered them am extension.
I love Klopp, I really do, and I hope its all a smoke and mirrors. At the start of the season, many us were saying we need MFs, but Klopp saying, "we will wait for the right player", not just "warm bodies" and on the last day of the transfer window we end up not with a "warm body" but a half dead one. They knew Melo had track record of being injured and was already injured.. Now Klopp says they're standing by him, which I hope is all smoke and mirrors, but probably not, we will have a loan player who will never play because he will be permanently injured.
I foe one hope he recovers by December and gets injured again before Jan, so they're forced to deregister him.
There are options in Jan that won't cost the earth, but none of them are on Klopp's/Transfer Committee's radar - guaranteed! I am not thinking about summer because if we don't make top 4, then the excuse will be, we don't have CL money.to buy the big money signings

We should look at Kudus as Firmino's replacement. Summer perhaps.
First, midfield, and two players in.

I would take any two of those and fancy us against anyone next year. The sort of transformational signings we need.

Since 2020, he has spent more than 400 days injured with repeated ankle issues. Our transfer committee's eyes must have lit up when they read that. He might end up being the first signing who spends all his time injured over the contract - like 100% injured.

I have no issues with Gakpo, it was fantasy to think we'd go for the Georgian. However, I just want us to be linked with a realistic MF target who stays fit.
Ruben Neves, Youri Tielemans or even Daichi Kamada. The latter two we'd probably get for less than £20m combined

Now that I'm well out of my 20s, I just can't fathom spending large sums of money on gak anymore.

I've turned a corner and cleaned my life up. So that's a no from me.

I feel pain every time I hear his fucking name. Yet people are bitching about Curtis Jones.
I get the frustration with NabyLad with regard to injuries. I think we should have sold him at the end of last season.

However as for stealing a living Ox is officially in legendary company. Ox situation is even worse how has he survived at the club so long?

Ox is in the all time list of most injured players in modern football (No #17)

PS - seven of those players are Arsenal players and we just signed up some of their medical team...?

I hate him too but I think ox is just broken. I'm not going to get annoyed at talent for making money from owners when they are sat stop a bonepile of 15 year olds with little future. I have some perhaps irrational idea that Naby is malingering.

Well it's strange...Naby didnt have a serious injury record in Germany...then all of a sudden he's injured all the time. Could be that Liverpool's training methods and the PL in general don't suit his body type.

Lucas used to be injured all the time and then went to Italy and became normal again.

I put the blame on the club... every man and his dog can see that whilst Keita is a decent player he's not that good to warrant waiting around for 5 years + waiting for him to Lazarus his way into good health.
