Not even sure, mate but I guess since Wolves won’t have paid everything to Sporting, it would about the same as Wolves paid. That Mendes chaps is as crafty as they come. We wanted him but apparently Klopp felt there was no rush as we enough bodies until next summer.
By tue way, I’ve heard that the reason we were interested in Tchouaméni was because he was bloody good and available and not because we felt the need for replacements yet 🙁. Klopp was seemingly fine with our options and that’s why he kept reeling off those names in the summer.

Which shows we had the money and the club likes to wait for the right person to be available. Klopp’s loyalty to players has been our downfall and I hope he now knows a more ruthless approach is needed to keep succeeding.

Konate is the long term Virgil successor. We do need the next long term central defender.
That's the kitty estimate by assuming that it will be funded by the sell of Phillips,Gomes,Keita,Oxlade and Morton and kumetio . The reality is we will struggle to offload these players and the kitty will deminish to 60 million with more than half already spent on Gackpo.

Keita and Ox will go for free, probably be Kelleher instead but yea this is exactly their MO down to this being put out exactly when we’re all annoyed by the lack of a midfield signing.
The other thing that may be mentioned is the cost of renewing the big contracts coming out of that figure.
I’m going to be shocked if we had out new contracts this summer. Who needs a renewal? Robertson?
None of those will be big contacts. Bobby will leave. He’s done. Thiago needs booting. Milner will leave/coach. Joel will get reduced terms. No big upgrades.
Thinking about Thiago, I’d imagine he would get a year extension. Then be sold in 2024.
This being, Klopp, I’d not be surprised.
