Chill.. something will happen.

Will we spend another €100m+? No
Will we buy someone... all the noises from Jurgen suggest yes. Its all smoke and mirrors.
One minute we are getting both Enzo and Bellingham and the next we have to sell to buy.
I know we need to shift a non-homegrown player if we are to buy another non-homegrown player but this we have to sell to buy model only works if you don't allow valuable assets to run down their contracts, and we have more than not.
You might get £10-£15m for Nats but that's it. Gomez, you might get £40m but both of these players are homegrown, then who is the RB alternative? Ox, Adrian and Naby are worth nothing. We need a CM as yesterday's game has shown

RB we have Ramsey and Bradley (although Bradley seems to have morphed into a Salah type position at Bolton).

Ramsey is no way ready, which is why Klopp keeps Gomez. If we could rely on Naby to be fit for the rest of the season, I'd be quiet but we all know he is going to get injured with in 5 games.
There are huge selection of players under £40m who could make our MF better, and they probably all can speak French, Portuguese or Spanish.

Let’s just hope we’re trying to dampen the noise to been able to get something quietly done.

Else we’d better look at getting Morton back from Blackburn (where he’s seriously impressed) and hope he’s ready enough to rotate into midfield.
Has morton impressed? I've seen it mentioned over the last few days but thats all i've heard all season about him.

Feels like the Darwin signing (which I like).
We desperately need midfielders to give the team balance ... and yet we spunk our budget on attacking talent.
The Leicester game - and how average (compliment) our midfield was should have highlighted to our bosses what is really needed to ensure 4th is taken this season.

Yea it’s honestly difficult to believe that we might not be getting a midfielder in after the farce in summer where the fans were seemingly more aware of the teams needs than the people in charge.

There is loads of young talent available right now. It doesn’t have to cost 100M.

Feels like we’ve been asleep the wheel for the last few years.

Really really frustrating.

It will be depressing if we don't buy a midfielder this window. It cant be lack of money as we just spent 30 million plus on Gakpo. The only explanation is we really want a couple of midfielders only and we are not willing to compromise. If that is the case, then spend a little bit extra and get atleast one early this window. Otherwise it will feel like clinging on to an ideology above everything else.

According to youtubers, yes, but going by Blackburn Rovers forum, he has been piss poor of late, started off brightly then got found out and performance dropped

Actually - we could probably sign Joao Gomes from Flemengo should we follow up on our previous interest - and he could be registered as an U21 for the rest of this season.

Don't Flamengo want the whole release clause?

If so that's a hard no.

Googled it - and his release clause is £57m.

It’s a bit high - so probably not likely - dunno if he’s any good or not.

I means - it’s not as there’s many midfielders that would actually be worth buying that would improve or options that’ll cost less than £40m.

But that has not stopped Arthur continuing to learn English ahead of hoping to make a positive impact upon his return from injury in early 2023.

Football language coach Sara Duque shared screenshots of herself with the midfielder during a lesson to her Instagram story, along with the message "well done @arthurhmelo". Arthur then shared the snap on his own story on Friday night.

What more do you want?

Well that’s the pose for the bronze statue sorted.

Alex Mac Alistair, Tielemans, Manu Kone, Amrabat and Azzadeen are all players believed to be under available under £40m. Do you think the ones I've mentioned are better options than CJ, Naby, Ox, or Melo, as good as they can be are perpetually injured

Not sure about Tielemans and Amrabat being any better.
Maybe being fitter than what we have but that’s it.
I do fear with Amrabat, soon as he does his back turned away from goal freight tanker turn in defense in Premier league, he will get found out rather quickly.

you can however get tielemans on a free as one replacement for milner, ox, keita triumvirate
bajcetic can be another

Tielemans has impressed me of late. I was a bit meh regarding signing him but his work rate has improved this season and his passing is excellent. There is a player there to be further developed which could be good for us.

On a free it makes a lot of sense.

My concern is his hunger and speed. Last 2yrs, he has looked a lad lost, not sure he can serve us unless manages to rediscover the ability he had 4yrs ago.

He’s probably looking for about 200k a week on a free though (plus a signing on fee) and for a rotational squaddie I’m not sure he’s for us.

Mac Allister signed a new contract a few months ago - I don’t think he’s either available or would cost under £40m.

Amrabat - nope. We’ve been through that - you’re paying for a player that has only impressed in the world cup and been shite up until then.

Tielemans - everyone loves him - the fact that no big club has been linked to him, despite his contract running down, speaks to me like there’s an underlying problem there. There’s something not right there - but who knows, maybe he’s holding out for a free and a big money move (salary wise) in the summer.

The reports on Kone are , Gladbach don’t want to sell unless a monster offer comes in - which means more than £40m.

Azzadine, I have no idea about, but I wouldn’t base anything on how he played at the World Cup - so, no, I don’t think he’s a better option than what we have at the minute.

Id be happy with Mac Allister or Kone - but are they really available at anything approaching a decent price?

Tielemans - I dunno - I don’t see him as a regular and I don’t know how he’d go being in a rotation system - like I said, something doesn’t feel right - but I wouldn’t be unhappy if we signed him - we’d just have to de-register someone or take a massive hit paying them off.

The 2 Moroccans are a no.
