But he was a good player. Which obviously was the only point beeing made.

Anyone with half a brain reading through this thread can see who's beeing the child and who isn't. I disagreed strongly with a comment made by Richey and he has then somewhat rephrased what he meant, you've just been kicking and screaming on the sideline without no apparent effect whatsoever.

KHL I wont be as cutting as some of the posters towards you but with regards to CB the best of the past 15+ years has been;

sami - imho the second best liverpool defender EVER
carra - one of the best liverpool defenders ever
handchoz - part of one of the meanest liverpool defenses ever

so two for the first team and one for the bench, where exactly does agger fit in that?

with regards to john barnes, his pace had gone but he still had wonderful vision. joe cole has down nothing for liverpool so far.

So why was he saying things like this?

I know he didn't left on the best of terms but Mascherano for one. You could also argue that Glen Johnson would be there or thereabouts. I know who I'd pick if I were to assemble a team today if the choice were between him and Finnan and this has got nothing to do with me not rating the latter.

I'd also say Daniel Agger isn't far of the standards of Henchoz and I'd certainly pick the former of the two if I were to assemble aforementioned team. And then of course Carra would make the list too if he wasn't the one picking them.

It does sort of seems he IS talking about a Dream Team, rather than just good players.

Maybe he got confused. It happens.

Fair enough. I meant if I were manager for club X and had to choose from every player we've had over the past 15 years in their best form.

I'd pick Johnson because of his attacking attributes ahead of e.g. Finnan. I don't think Magic has so far meritted a place in the all time best over the past 15-years team over Finnan perhaps but that doesn't mean I don't rate him highly as a player. If you can't see the difference here so then be it.

And for the record to those who still don't get it. Sami and Carra are still both head and shoulder's above Agger - even in my opinion. That doesn't mean the latter isn't a good footballer and so is Masher, Kuyt and whom else who isn't appearing on that list despite what others may think.

That was my only point with regards to the rather doom-tainted picture others were trying to paint.

er, my original point was that this list was easy to make as those were by far the standout players we have had in that period. That is rather depressing. That is all i meant.

Other players had their moments but none would challenge those on Carra's list.
