McCarthy said no to a number of clubs including us, Chelsea and Celtic.

His philosophy is superb, and one which a number of players should follow. He's at Wigan now, if he continues to shine he'll move to a top four side on merit in 2/3 years. Although the fee will be inflated.

The same can be said of Victor Moses.

I remember reading Steve Bruce explaining how he sold Wigan to guys like Valencia. He basically said he'd give them the platform to shine in the biggest league in the world and that they could then quite easily go on to move to a big club. Very good strategy for a club like Wigan.

Anyways, let's not lose sight of the fact that last nights performance aside, they're pretty shit and fighting to avoid relegation.
