"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

Suarez is 10 times the player Coutinho ever will be.

I'm more willing to forgive a player like Suarez who at least looked like he gave a fuck every week
Of course, but what can I say but let's wait and see how he does. If he sulks he can fuck off.

Yeah, I've got no issue with him getting back in the team as quickly as possible. But wont care when we sell the little shit next summer for a massive fee, and actually/hopefully manage to sign someone boss to replace him.

If Coutinho wanted to play, he would play.

If he says he's got an injury/pain then there isn't a scanner in the world that could isolate where the pain is coming from, especially in the back. It's the vaguest place to say hurts because it could be myriad things

The club probably know he's being a shit house, but want to humour him because we need the fans onside, so we go "yeah, he's injured". We throw him under the bus any more than he did himself then there's no way in hell the fans would forgiven him, nor would barca pay what we'd want

You that naive?
No I'm not "that naive". What I'm contesting is that the injury is an entire fabrication which is what some seem to be suggesting. He missed the last friendly with a back problem and it's been played on since, but I do believe he initially had a problem and may still do along with his head not clearly being in the right place.

I really don't think that saying his head isn't in it is somehow worse than saying he's injured, I mean Christ - enough has come out from his side to suggest that he's not in the right frame of mind anyway. If what you are suggesting is the case, then the club have a very lowly view of the intelligence of its fans.

Philippe Coutinho is ready to hold clear-the-air talks with Liverpool as he looks to return to the fold with Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Brazilian international emailed a transfer request to the club earlier this month, a request rejected by Liverpool, after interest from Barcelona turned his head.

Barca have had a number of bids rejected for the playmaker and have been surprised by the Anfield club's resolve, they have ended their interest in order to analyse other options and sounded out Christian Eriksen's interest in a move as well as talking to the representatives of Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri - with whom they have outlined personal terms.

Which all leaves Coutinho in an awkward position on Merseyside, where he has asked to leave the club but looks certain to still be a Liverpool player on 1 September.

WHY LIVERPOOL'S COUTINHO TRANSFER DECISION COULD DEFINE KLOPP'S REIGN
The Independent understands that the player and his representatives are ready to admit defeat and will look to talk to key Liverpool figures to smooth over the summer's events. People within the 25-year-old midfielder's entourage are pointing the finger at Barcelona for manipulating their client and have suggested the Nou Camp club used family members to provide additional pressure. They insist the ill-conceived email was Barca's idea.

Jurgen Klopp has been clear throughout this saga that the player was not for sale and that, had it not been for a back injury, he would have been playing. When Coutinho is fit again he is now expected to return to the Liverpool team but not before some uncomfortable conversations with Liverpool. The players are expected to welcome back their teammate with open arms.

The Reds managed to bring in just one of their top targets this summer, succeeding in recruiting Mohamed Salah but finding Southampton and RB Leipzig absolutely unwilling to deal Virgil van Dijk or Naby Keita respectively.

It's being reported that Barcelona are planning to sue Neymar for repayment of a loyalty bonus they gave him last year. A sum upwards of 7 mill.euros is involved.

You couldn't make it up.

The injury is a fabrication

He possibly had a "back strain" initially. But it definitely isn't the reason he missed 3 games.
Don't believe that for a second.

We're a club who's fans burned the shirt, sent death threats, and abused in person and online, a local lad, weeks after winning us our most important trophy in recent memory

Yes, I'm sure our fans would totes be cheering on Coutinho when we played watford after his recent shite.

When something like this happens it's absolute poison to the club, especially on the pitch. You try to hide it with whatever lie buys you enough time to sort it properly.

If you think then Coutinho has a back issue then you should be all for selling the lad. Back issues at his age won't improve

But it's all a massive lie, so it's good

No. I said he I thought he had an initial back problem when he missed the last friendly. It is not an entire fabrication.

There is no parallel between the Gerrard and Coutinho situations, Fabio, come on.

If you think the whole thing is made up then we'll just have to agree to disagree. [emoji106]

I think the Gerrard shirt-burners and their ilk are a very tiny minority, though

We didn't boo suarez when he threw a strop and tried to force a move to fucking Arsenal

I don't know, or care, if the injury is real or whatever. But if he plays well for Liverpool when/ if he returns to the side, I'm not going to be that arsed about his efforts to leave. Maybe my lack of anger is partly because I'm not really that arsed about him as a player in the first place, though.

He's a very, very good player and currently one of our best - which isn't hard really - and he's not on the level of Suarez, Gerrard or Torres. I'd be more angry and concerned if Mane left.

I'd certainly be looking at signing his replacement asap either way

[article]Barcelona are interested in signing Nice star Jean Michael Seri. However, RMC Sport reports that their chances have taken a hit because Nice feel disrespected. Barcelona have already agreed on personal terms with Seri without Nice’s consent. [/article]

Yeah it's a minority but it's a very vocal minority who would make themselves heard at Anfield.

Suarez got a bit of initial grief, but considering he scored early doors and put in a shift.

Something tells me Coutinho won't do either. But that's probably down to my own reservations about him

I'm not massively angry about him going or staying. My anger is directed at the club for once again fucking up a window before the season starts. So Coutinho is lucky on that regard, that most people are distracted

Barcelona are quickly turning from being everybody's darling to Cuntelona

I dunno. I don't think we'd be quite as bothered about him leaving if we had signed Keita and VVD first. But as it is, it's just the shit-stained cherry on top of a giant urinal cake

One of the worst transfer windows ever given the optimism at the start of it

Mane is our best player if he was the one leaving it would have hurt us much more than coutinho

Do you think? He's a great player and is getting frighteningly better and better, but quick attackers are easier to come by than players of the ilk of a Coutinho or Silva.

Quick, super effective wingers at Mane's level are very very difficult to find, surely.
Right now he wouldn't look out of place in pretty much any side in the world.

Both are quality players and both will be off next season if we don't make top 4 which is a strong possibility.

Klopp on Coutinho
[article]If Phil would start tomorrow he can’t because on top of the back he is now ill.

It was not that serious. He has had no training for a long time.

I have no idea (when he’s back). We’d have to check when he is back.[/article]

[article]I will never give any comments on whoever wrote or said... but it’s 100% clear nothing has changed.

My English isn’t good enough to give five different answers to the same question.[/article]
[article]Is everything cool between you and Coutinho?

Of course. Why do you ask? Of course. Yes. Indeed. Absolutely. 100%.[/article]
Matip on Coutinho
[article]We have a few players who are missing at the moment through injuries or something else.

But we have a lot of quality in this team and I have no doubt about it.

The players who will play tomorrow I am convinced by.[/article]
