"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

Do you think he is pretending to be injured, or is this something clubs say now when heads get turned? It's probably a mutual position to get him away from the rest of the gang.

Completely agree. But not all clubs do/have to do it. Sigurdsson (now gone) and VVD aren't pretending to be injured to get their moves.

I don't get people being that pissed off with him. He's from Brazil and every South American dreams of playing for Barca or Madrid. It's the absolute peak of their ambition, and he had a shot at it. If anything you could feel a bit sorry for him... but luckily we've got him a long deal and he's gonna have to suck it up. There is no loyalty beyond that bit of paper he signed, I think we all get that don't we? He's not a scouser, he didn't grow dreaming of playing for us, he probably thinks we're not in any danger of winning anything soon. But he's dead good and getting better, so we need a top season from him. Be ace if he could play against Arse.

I think if Barca offer a Brazillian player 100k a week, and Man City offer them 500k a week, it'd suddenly become it has always been their dream to play for Man City.

I'd say VVD has acted way more out of order to try and get his move, injury or not.

I can't wait for him to be back in the team. I don't get the hate. Yeah he wants to go to Barcelona but who can blame him he's Brazilian. Chances are Barca put him under enough pressure by saying its now or never type of thing and he went for it. Suarez did a lot worse.

Windom: debatable. One could argue that van Dijk has at least been open about it, and he's got more to be browned off with his current club about. They clearly anticipated selling him all along and had no problem with our interest in him as long as the Chavs and Citeh were also in the running. It was only when the player decided it had to be LFC and their hopes of a bidding war went up the Swanee that they saw their @rse and made an issue of our conduct and of the whole idea of his leaving.

All those sentiments I can agree with. But the timing were he put himself above the team that were preparing for the season opener was abysmal. He could easily wait 24 hrs.

Openness or not, he's downed tools and released a very public statement. He's still training away from the first team.

Coutinho has at least tried to keep it respectful and the only reason we know any details are because of leaks to the press (likely from both the club and PC's rep). Barca's involvement has made this look much worse than it is thanks to all the mouldy old bollocks them and the Spanish press have peddled each week. I'd argue most of the ire directed towards PC is based on assumptions. Regardless, a few have been saying for a while that we needed more cunts in the team [emoji23]

Feel uneasy that the news of him staying is only coming from British press. Will only be at ease once I see him playing in our kit again.

He may not be, but can you say with 100% certainty that it is him and not the club that declared him unfit?

Why the fuck would the club declare him unfit?

Back pain is as vague as anything and impossible to treat until it goes

I'm well on the side of Coutinho being the shit house

The club has a medical department for a reason, pal. He'll have been seen to. Throughout the whole Sturridge debate early in Klopp's tenure, he wasn't afraid to declare Sturridge fit and say it was psychological. If Coutinho wasn't carrying something, I doubt the club would shy from saying something to the effect that he wasn't mentally right to play.

Spot on!
I have no expectations from professional footballers to be loyal to their clubs. They have a limited time career and want to fulfill their dreams and/or make as much money as possible.
Most of the players at top clubs are not local lads, and have not come through the academies of their clubs.
Loyalty to a club belongs to the past as far as footballers are concerned. And BTW, clubs aren't loyal to their players either.
So generally speaking, the only loyal "entities" are us, the fans.

Yeah, true enough. But it's still OK to be fucking annoyed.

When Torres left for Chelsea - understandable as that was - did anyone here think "Oh, good luck to him, I hope he does well"?

The point was that every south american will get their head turned by Barca. Torres going to a plastic flag waving total farage of a club in our own league wasn't the same.

I get that, but I was responding to the general "loyalty" post made by jimmy.

If Coutinho wanted to play, he would play.

If he says he's got an injury/pain then there isn't a scanner in the world that could isolate where the pain is coming from, especially in the back. It's the vaguest place to say hurts because it could be myriad things

The club probably know he's being a shit house, but want to humour him because we need the fans onside, so we go "yeah, he's injured". We throw him under the bus any more than he did himself then there's no way in hell the fans would forgiven him, nor would barca pay what we'd want

You that naive?

Balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, Woland post, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, Woland post, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls,Woland post, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls....

We've erm, commissioned a statue of Coutinho in a fancy dress party get-up.

I believe it is a general "loyalty" issue.

Off course it's hard for me as a fan to accept a player "defecting" and leaving for another club.
I was fuming when Torres left for Chelsea. I couldn't sleep for nights when it looked like Gerrard was leaving. Mad at Mascherano, Xabi etc. Hated McMannaman and Owen etc.
(I was not as mad at Suárez though since he always gave us 120% when putting the red shirt on, and especially that unforgettable season).

But I'm trying to be reasonable now. Coutinho Is an important "cog" in our machine, and I want him back ASAP. Once we find an appropriate replacement, he can fuck off to the highest bidder.

That's today's football.

Yeah. All I'm thinking was that in preseason he was our best player by miles, even though he had a mardy pout on the whole time. He changes us, instantly, into something so much better. And that isn't surprising in that Klopp clearly saw him as someone to shape the team around. Get him back on the pitch tout fucking suite.

Why would you pretend to be injured when the club gas agreed to sell and the only hitch is the fee? Also, the club is Everton! As for VVD, he's training with the sprigs, why is that?
