"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

It really highlights their current plight when we struggle to think of players who are attractive options for us. Those clubs where our targets are from will probably wait and see if and how much we sell Coutinho for before trying to fleece us.

  1. Ter Stegen
    3. Piqué
    4. Rakitic
    5. Sergio
    9. Suárez
    10. Messi
    14. Mascherano
    18. Alba
    20. S. Roberto
    21. André Gomes
    23. Umtiti
You look at the current Barca team and yeah their team is obviously still a lot better than ours but not many exciting players.

Thats what I mean im confused.
Like if we could line up say
Keita, VVD, Meyer, Draxler and Goretzka (or equivalent ballers) now and bring them all in and he goes and covers 50% of the outlay then we would be mad not to.

Do you have any faith in us tying up deals for them?

Of the realistic ones, Sergi Roberto may be the only interesting one. But his progress was really stunted by being the previous regimes' lack of focus in grooming La Masia graduates and his versatility.

Sky Sports News understands the latest offer was worth an initial £113m and the fee could have risen to £118m based on the Brazil international's potential appearances at the Nou Camp.

If those add ons include winning the La Liga and CL, then they are as good as non-existent.

While Sky said its 113+5, Mirror are reporting 80+34 (which tally with Paul Joyce "inclusive of huge add-ons" claim

[article]Liverpool have rejected an improved £80million bid - plus add-ons, taking the fee to £114million - from Barcelona for Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona have seen their THIRD offer turned down by the Merseyside club for the Reds midfielder after seeing a previous bid of £72m (rising to £90million) instantly rejected.[/article]

The Times: £118m, inclusive of huge add-ons
Sky Sports: £113m rising to £118m
Mirror: £80m bid - plus add-ons, taking the fee to £114m
BBC: believed to be in the region of £114m

They're right cunts, clearly trying to unsettle the club by putting the bids in the day before matches, and I'm sure they pushed Coutinho to do the transfer request too. Wouldn't be surprised to see them fucking around come Tuesday too.

Piss taking cunts

£82.1m upfront + £36.5m add ons. Times and Mirror's reports seem more accurate than Sky's.

That said, Diario Sport's version is €120m + €10m.

Guardian's version is same as Times and Mirror - €90m + €40m
[article]Liverpool have again underlined their determination to keep Philippe Coutinho by rejecting a deal worth up to €130m (£119m) from Barcelona for the unsettled Brazil international.

Barcelona’s third attempt to prise Coutinho from Anfield constituted a guaranteed €90m (£82.3m) plus a staggering €40m (£36.6m) in add-ons, an increase of €5m and €35m respectively on their previous offer. The Spanish giants made an anticipated third bid on Friday having been encouraged by the transfer request the 25-year-old emailed to Liverpool’s sporting director, Michael Edwards, one week ago.[/article]

If we're even to consider a bid it has to be cash upfront. No add ons, and a bid of 150 mill £. They're desperate and got the money.

Keita, VVD and, after Tuesdays game, we could look at Demirbay. I was very impressed and he could be exactly what we need.
The idea of Rakitic is decent, but close to 30 and probably on high wages. Could be a good short term solution though.

I'd sell him, grab a couple of worldies to replace him.... Then smash Hoff and get Barca in the champ league
My inner Keegan is saying 'id love it'

I only saw Rakitic play twice last season and wasnt that impressed. I have not seen enough but I think I would go for someone younger - Meyer perhaps?

They're cheeky cunts.

We KNOW they got 220m cash upfront a couple of weeks ago.

As such, why the fuck would any club take a deal that is made of almost a third addons as opposed to cash upfront.

Double fuck you Barca.
Especially so as there was plenty of chat about Barca insisting that the entirety of the released clause was paid in full , upfront !

The bid helps to unsettle the player as £114 million sounds reasonable to the player. He doesn't care about the payment plan

Agreed. Meyer has regressed a bit I think, but the potential is there. With 1 year left on his contract there might be a deal to be done.

I like the idea of Demirbay though.

Is it really true that Barca offered 80mill with add-ons. The main add on was that if he wins the Ballon D'or they'll pay the extra 30mill or something! I swear I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Cheeky cunts. Maybe we should do the same with VVD? 30Mill + an Extra 40mill if he wins the Ballon D'or or wins the world cup with a worldy in the final.

I heard they have sold the first Shirt with 15 Paulinho on now.... or sold might be a bit wrong as they have it away. But anyway they are on a roll

He scores a hat-trick in the final more like. A proper hat-trick of course!!
