"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

We ain't get top 4 with that defense anyway. Bar Clyne and Matip they are all shite
Sorry i meant forget top 4 we'll be lucky to be in top 6. Our defense is shit no doubt, but i'd rather keep coutinho and give ourselves a whole season to find the right replacement rather than wasting money on a panic buy.

There are only a few players in the world I think could replace Coutinho and his creativity.

KDB, Eriksen, Iniesta (as old as he is), Hamsik, Isco. We're not getting any of those. So there's no point looking for a like for like.

I wouldn't mind if we brought in more "toughness" (with a bit less creativity) in Keita (somehow) and changed our style of play, to be a bit more solid as a team. Move Firmino into AM and play a 4231 with a proper CF if we need more creativity/threat in games.

I agree, although there's also 2 weeks left in the window. Why can't we get a deal over the line in that time?

If it's too difficult, then yeah, he's got to stay and suck it up.

I cannot stand the fact he is at our club now. Fuck him and let him go for 100M or anything above. Hes a cunt just like all those wankers that have willingly come to our club only looking and dreaming to play for those 2 Spanish cunts. Does my head in now. Its like having a virus at our club... so blind and cannot see that Barca are actually weaker than us without him. What a little shit for handing in a transfer this late. Thats what pisses me off.. at least with Suarez we knew where we were.

The Liverpool manager reiterated that FSG will not sell Coutinho this summer even with the 25-year-old, who misses the play-off first leg with a back problem, agitating for a transfer. Klopp was reluctant to discuss the Brazil international but clarified his comments at Watford on Saturday, when he stated “his bosses” will decide the player’s future.

“It is not that I don’t want to speak, it is that I can’t change my answers,” he said. “If they [FSG] say they [Barcelona] can bid whatever but we don’t want it, then that is a clear message.

“We don’t want the money, we want to invest in the team and have the best team because we have our aims and dreams. That is the message.

“I have the player from 31 August latest, again, or when the back issue is sorted. There is nothing else I can say about it. I think I said, ‘I have bosses’, right? I have many bosses, including my wife.

“I can live with this, it’s no problem. They are 100% clear on it. There is nothing else to say.”

Worked for Suarez

Modo - I just want to get rid - for me it is a matter of pride more than anything else. We don't need to prostrate towards Barca, or any other fucking club in this world - so I don't think we should have a spot for a player who does not want to play for us. Fuck him and Barca - so tired of this. Now I know how Southampton fans must feel about us.

To"just get rid'is the worst choice for us-as if we just can't handle the pressure, and to just get rid at this stage will see us getting nowhere near our stated price of 136 million(if we did state it).Barca will have won another round and will be back again the next time we have a player they fancy. There are only two choices at this stage😱ne is to stick with the no sale position and deal with Couthino after the 1st of Sept. The second is to to not budge one penny from the 136 million and demand it all UPFRONT.Just like PSG had to do for Barca. We make it so painful or unproductive for Barca that they will think twice before coming back again. It's not about Coutinho ,it's about the club.

So we should give in to Barca to show that we don't prostate to them?

The best shit scenario is we do a Suarez and get another year out of him while assessing where we are going next. It's not ideal but it's better than just caving in.

As for Barca, the like for like thing with Neymar is neither here nor there. They think he will flourish to a degree that will replace Neymar's impact. It's hard to argue he won't. He'll score and create more there.

Nothing to do with Barca - just pissed that he has done his shit thing a day or so before our first game. Pontentially cost us 2 points and has put all our pre season prep to nothing. To me that is the serious offence.

I guess it's a funny coincidence that coutinhos back injury will clear up on the 31st

How does selling him make any of that better? It will mean we have completely caved to him (as well as Barca)

That makes no difference.

I fail to see how giving him what he wants, & Barca what they want, does anything even remotely positive.

It's a world cup year, so there's zero chance he'll down tools or play half arsed. If we stand our ground we can keep him longer, meaning our side isn't weaker & we have longer to make plans for replacement/s.

If we let him go we're simply rewarding bad behaviour & making ourselves look like mugs. The footballing equivalent of those parents who give little Jimmy what he wants cos he kicks & screams otherwise. Forever walked over. Fuck that.

The failure to get most of our targets this summer has made this situation worse than it would have been. If the club were to let Coutinho get what he wants whilst leaving us in an even worse position squad wise then it would be sheer negligence and so far even FSG haven't been daft enough to do that.
Quality players are difficult to get for clubs who have able negotiators so it's no surprise that we've struggled as ours don't inspire confidence when it comes to thrashing out deals.
And if Coutinho isn't happy at the moment then who fucking cares he's only got himself to blame. It's not like he doing us a favour by playing for us , the little rat is very very well paid so should just knuckle down and get on with it.
Klopp may not be happy because of Coutinho's actions in pushing for a move but no doubt he'll be back in the squad when his back injury clears up or the window shuts , whichever comes first but his attitude to Sakho remains the same which seems a little strange considering the shit defenders we have as backup

Fuck giving in. That would send a message that you can sign a contract one day then have a hissy fit and get your own way.

We got Suarez for one more year and he was magnificant but I doubt Coutinho will do the same. Suarez is mentally strong/insane but I fear that Coutinho will sulk if we keep him.

Sell the fucker.

First bit: perhaps, but at the time of the Suarez thing I was concerned that his mental strength would actually work against us, so you never know.

Second bit: in any case selling Coutinho now would be a terrible idea, for the reasons others have given above.

We should sign Mahrez and Ziyech whilst keeping Coutinho. Either he plays to the best of his ability or he is dropped. If the other lads don't step up (they will clearly get the opportunity) we can sell them all next year. They are worth a punt.

Keeping Coutinho without quality back up doesn't help our cause.

The Watford game alone should show why we need to keep coutinho. Playing can, hendo and wijnaldum as our midfield 3 until lallana is back is a depressing thought.

We need to fetch more quality in anyway, regardless of the Coutinho situation - and selling him now, when we've publicly committed ourselves to not doing so, would brand us as a second-rank selling club once and for all. Wanting rid of the little bugger immediately, while understandable, seems seriously short-sighted to me.

I would have thought, at this late stage, that it's a no-brainer for the Liverpool executives to stand by their announcement. They need to avoid disrupting the managers preparations and there is also inadequate time to find a replacement. They must put the club as a whole before an individual player.
