People that rate Dirk Kuyt have a fuckin clue.

There's a reason why he plays every week.
Only fucking idiots with no clue whatsoever don't understand why.

He shouldn't be undroppable, no matter how self righteous your posts get.

That negates your Brendan 'has no clue' arguemnt though.

I was going to make my own Kuyt thread but I gave him some lovin' already in the match thread.

He was limping in the first half and Andy Grey pointed it out.

I was worried.

Pish on my concerns, he's InDirkstructable !

I have pretty much no respect for people that don't rate him. They've obviously never kicked a football in their life.

He run's that kind of shit off.

He's been utterly clueless for the first half of this season (as was the case last season until the Madrid game).

He's fine for a team with UEFA aspirations but he wouldn't get into any of the Scum, Arse or Chav sides.

He had already scored winners against Citeh and Wigan (off the top of my head) and had scored other and had a few assists before the Madrid game..He had a cracking season last year for nearly all of it.

He most certainly did not.

He did score a few winners, but he was dreadful for the most part up until Madrid.

Kuyt was absolutely shite for most of this season and most of last as well. A few crucial goals and good games shouldn't change that.

Kuyt almost always plays well in the derby, as its more about heart than skill. But that doesn't hide the fact he hasn't been good enough this year or any year on the right wing.

He is a striker and that is where he should be played.

As for your post, well you actually get angry when people claim Lucas should not play for LFC so anything you say is laughable.

Lucas isn't the worst player in the world but he is nowhere near good enough to be in our first 11. And the fact you can't see that either makes you pigheaded blind stupid or all of the above.

Is correct. People have very short memories.

Well done today though, and 50 for LFC. Congrats Kuyt.

I just wish you were played up front week in week out. Not your fault our manager buys you as a stirker and converts you to a defensive winger.

Did he cost us points in any games? no....

Did he gain us points by scoring winners and getting assists to winners? Yes.

I'd love too see what dictionary you got your meaning of dreadful from.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of Kuyt (all huff and not much else) I do feel for him being played out in some fabricated Benitez position on the wing - when by definition, he's a striker.

Whilst correct, that's a bit melodramatic and preachy, isn't it?

Most of us rate him to varying extents - The debate is usually to his role on the team or his "undropability", not whether he's any good or not. He can play the game, and anybody who says otherwise is too blinded by whatever reason they don't like him to discuss it with...

Through no fault of his own he has become symbolic of the flaws in Rafas management, effort over ability etc he has played everyleague game for about 2 years without exception even when he was playing awful. He is an easy guy to like, he has a great attitude and is as honest as the day is long but he is not suited to playing wide he doesnt have the pace or guile to beat his man, his crossing is patchy and he is seriously lacking in creativity. At times it sees that the attribute that has made the right midfield slot his own is his discipline. In that regard he is world class but discipline is not enough, he can sniff out a goal but he missing some startlingly easy chances too.

In a team crying out for players who can put their foot on the ball and play he is symptomatic of an of our problems a mate of mine calls him the best attacking right back in the league and while its a backhanded compliment its not far off the truth. He should be our 2nd/3rd striker not our first choice right winger

Ok so you don't have respect for most football fans because anyone with half an iota of brain knows that Kuyt should play when on form, and be 'available' for the bench when he goes through his month (or two month etc) long patches of 'shit' form. Brendan ... Mark ... Oncey ... the list goes on of people who agree with the above ... and you would too, if you realized how stupid your original post was.

* Admits defeat * ok........

He has the touch of the rapist for half a season and hurts some of the build up play. He cost us 2 points against Lyon at Anfield this year and has missed a few chances this year (all which have been vital since early on). If he was played as back up striker to Torres or even partner I'd be happy he was in our squad (but I don't think Torres needs a partner and that would be definitive if the club used its (got) better wingers).

The truth is Kuyt is a phenomenal threat from set pieces because of his work rate and strength. He just isn't a midfielder or winger at all. And isn't the best we have in any position right now when all are fit (Torres). But he'll always get you goals and should be used as Torres backup/partner unless we got better. And he should be dropped through his marathon like shit periods.
Kuyt asking that many questions of Carragher today was unecessary. He had good game and had two or three nice touches today.

I liked what I saw from Maxi today and I think Riera and Maxi (on the right!) are our best wingers, and should get the majority playing time there.

How does work rate make him a threat from set pieces?
[/quote]

He'll continue to chase the ball until he gets an opportunity, its the perfect environment for him. Not about pace but rather a good run and a dangerous position which he will constantly fight for, sorry I may have used the wrong word, but I just extrapolated work rate to stamina, fight, and movement.
