Absolute filth. How anyone can take pleasure in things like this or Heysel or the Munich air crash etc. is beyond me.

Not sticking up for them but they should be up in arms if things are said about the Munich air crash, no football fan should stoop to those levels.

It was mentioned in another thread, think it was 'YSB 96 Not Enough' or something like that.

NOt sure what YSB means but we can all guess.

It was an official Nike ManUre shirt with Premier League-style lettering.

Where the name goes across the top it says YSB (you scouse b*stard)

number 96

below number it says "NOT ENOUGH"

I won't link to the shirt's image because frankly it's disgusting; perhaps you can do a Google search for it if you're so inclined. I know the original link (a Facebook photo) has been pulled.

Absolutely Disgusting - was it only the one shirt or was there a print run ? It reads like just the one.

You know people like this Jackson are the ones the term lowest common denominator was invented for.

I spend a bit of time on Red Cafe and I have to say that maybe 75% are very supportive when the issue of Hillsborough is mentioned. Heysel is different but still has support from people effectively saying ' there but for the grace of God go us'.

I put this in Farkys thread:

Not worthy of a new thread but fair play to Sports Direct

It was featured on TLW that a manc kid on Facebook had 'YSB 96 Not Enough' printed on his United shirt at one of their stores. I complained to their customer services along with countless others, and they issued the following statement as a result:
Sports Direct has been notified that an extremely offensive and wholly inappropriate football shirt was printed at one of its stores. The store assistant printed this unknowingly and has been deeply shocked upon being notified of the significance of this and the upset caused.

As a result, Sports Direct has taken immediate action and changed the administration policy for printing football shirts across its store network. With immediate effect, it will only allow printing of current football players names and numbers on football shirts.

Sports Direct has contacted Facebook to request the urgent withdrawal of this deeply offensive image from the individual's Facebook page, and is very apologetic for this spiteful and abusive shirt.

Yours faithfully

Mr K Fitch
Customer Service Manager

The full facts are his older brother wrote a very mature, responsible and heartfelt apology and said his family would make a donation to the HJC. He also ensured his younger bro apologised and explained he made a big mistake and that he'd let football fans down everywhere or something. The kid also said he's burned the shirt.

The families action since this same to light has been impeccable, so lets put down the pitch forks for a bit. It was a stupid, young attention-seeking kid who didn't know where the boundaries of football lay. He now seemingly does.

There's a bigger thread on it over at TLW with the responses given.

So who did he apologise to? The families? You're very forgiving Squiggs.

This scumbag made a number of decisions that were premeditated and as far as Im concerned any mealy mouthed apologies are for no reason other than to take the heat off him

No, you just started a 'lets start a riot thread' before knowing the full facts.

Like I said, go over on TLW and read everything for yourself.

Not referring to this particular incident just generalising.................. They have some scum fans, we have some scum fans - every team has some scum fans so it is very hypocritical to lambast another teams support when in truth football in general attracts a signifcant scummy element.

I am Colm Jackson's older brother and have just been tipped off about the group on here. I don't have a Facebook account so just sent one up now so I can get in touch with you. This top never saw, and will never see, the light of day. I took it off him as soon as he bought it. I'm not sure what he's been posting on Facebook but he has never worn it.

I educated him on the seriousness of the Hillsborough disaster and also on what is acceptable and what is not and obviously this top is a disgrace. I'm a United fan and have never seen anything like it in all the years I've been to games. We all understand the United / Liverpool rivalry but there is a line which has been crossed. I wish to send my apologies to all for the offence caused, and secondly on behalf of United fans in general.

As regards the actual printing of the shirt at the shop I called in to see the manager of the branch of Sports Direct to discuss it and she did explain that members of staff can't always be held responsible for what is printed on the back of shirts which I understand.

In terms of my brother trying to make amends for his stupid teenage bravado I will look into getting a donation organised to the charity of choice. I'm not sure if there is a Hillsborough relief fund still going? I understand this does not excuse what he did but I hope it is a start before I can think what else to do with him.

I was going to post this straight on the wall but thought it would be better to send to yourself first. Feel free to post it on there if you think that's the best course of action.

Cheers,
Graham

From the kid himself:

“I DEEPLY APOLGISES FOR WHAT I HAVE DONE AND DID NOT REALISE THE SHEER DISREPCT OF IT I KNOW AS FOOTBALL TEAMS WE HATE EACH OTHER BUT I HAVE GONE TOO FAR I HAVE NOW REMOVED THE SHIRT OFF FACEBOOK AND I ALSO BURNED IT I KNOW 96 PEOPLE DIED THAT DAY AS A STUPID LITTLE CHILD I AM I GOT IT PRINTED ON THE SHIRT WHICH WAS REALLY REALLY STUPID AND MY INBOX MESSAGES ARE FULL OF THREATS AND IT IS A DISGRACE TO MAN UNITED FANS I DEEPLY SORRY FOR STUPID THING I HAVE DONEâ€

Yes, that unfortunate incident at the SOS meeting springs to mind. There's a lot of despicable retards that can be very vocal and seem to be representative or drive discourse.

I think he's at college so 16ish?

You can tell from the apology that he's not the brightest spark out there.

What do you mean "before knowing the full facts"?

I started the thread at 10.46pm last night. The "apology" was posted on TLW at 1.31am today. Anyway why should I read TLW do decide how I should feel about this scumbag. He made a decision to go into a sports shop and order a shirt with a disgusting logo. He also made a decision to display that on facebook to show what a big man he is. Any apologies should be direct to the families of the Hillsborough dead, not a mealy mouthed damage limitation one on football forums.

I have no doubt that the "apology" from Sports Direct is a directive from their sales executives.

Why are you lying? You've clearly checked yourself so did you think I wouldn't follow it up? It was clearly posted yesterday at 01:31 AM. I know because I read it yesterday afternoon. That's what I meant about "before knowing the full facts".

But carry on your crusade, keep on labelling all their fanbase "scum", disregard facts, and instil further animosity between the two sets of supporters. I'd rather be more grown up about the issue, and accept that there are stupid, ignorant, cunt fans on both sides, who get their kicks from controversy and attention. God knows what United fans made of that SoS meeting, where those involved where older but equally juvenile, and something for which there's been no apology for.

An apology direct to the families would of course be appropriate, but you've chosen to completely dilute and disregard all of their subsequent actions - something which is extremely unfair.

I agree completely. The stupid kid is only 16. The worker at the shop was probably half asleep doing an incredibly boring job.

It appears like it's been dealt with as best as it could have been, given it's simply the act of an individual minor.

I think the SoS thing was far worse, given that it involved an organization, and a weak organizational response after the fact. There are clearly idiots on both sides, I would imagine some of the response that they have received has included some equally idiotic things, for instance death threats (though not serious) and the like.

My apologies. I read that thread after YOU advised me too, and mistakenly thought the 1.31am was this morning.

Now that I've apologised let me say this to you. Dont ever fucking call me a liar again!

Incidentally I was, and still am, apalled and disgusted at the SOS singing.

I know some of our stupid fans (all teams have them) sing songs about Munich but this is going too far

Allegedly a certain WANKAR is the person behind that blog under another alias (Scott The Red)
[/quote]

Hard to confirm that, but a whois lookup shows exactly the same details (which hide his idenitity) as his Liverpool blog.
