The Czech republic are really struggling after losing the likes of Poborsky, Nedved, Smicer and to an extent Rosicky.

They used to play good football, it's a pity.

they were my second team but not anymore now that they have no liverpool players.
so it's england, brazil and if they both go out that will end my interest in the world cup.

I wouldn't mind playing France, granted they've got some brilliant individuals but they have one of the worst managers in international football (Maradona is his saving grace) and he hasn't been getting much out of them lately. Benzema even admitted recently that he finds it hard to motivate himself for internationals.

As for Ireland , well I think Trappatoni deserves a lot of credit for a top class turd polishing job. We've got Given, O'Shea, Dunne, Keane and Doyle who are solid Premiership performers. After that the quality drops quite a bit yet we managed to get two draws against the current world champions. Italy have conceded 5 goals in the entire campaign and we scored three of them. We're unbeaten too. All in all you'd have to be happy with how things have gone even if the last minute equaliser was a massive kick in the nuts.

2. You're right about Domenech, but the same twat was 'in charge' when France lost the WC 2006 Final on penalties. Their team is full of top-class players, any of whom could beat Ireland with a moment of magic. I'd support Ireland if that were the match-up in the play-offs (as it would really fuck off the French) but tbh I wouldn't fancy your chances.
3. Benzema's lack of motivation for international matches probably has something to do with the fact that he has to sit on the bench watching a Bolton-level hoofer called Gignac fill the centre-forward position.

I watched this one Bundesliga game, where this Bosnian forward called Ibisevic ran riot.

Dzeko I've seen him only once too against United. Tidy player, but isn't that much better than Crouch I wouldn't think. Then again, I'm basing it only on one game.

But yeah, Bosnia would be my dark horse pick too.

They have Dzeko and Ibisevic up front with Misimovic and Salihovic behind them. These guys are among the best Bundesliga players at the moment. If they actually go through they will surprise a few people.

My Uruguayan born friend has adopted Liverpool somewhat, so I've been watching Uruguay's struggles with interest. Uphill battle against Argentina tomorrow, but I'm hoping they can conjure something up against the coke head's team.
