Insua fee agreed

Reports suggest Emiliano Insua will join Fiorentina in a £5 million deal which could be wrapped up before the weekend.

Talks between the clubs had taken place before Roy Hodgson's appointment. Earlier this week the Reds boss admitted he had been impressed by the 21-year-old but suggested he may have no say in the transfer.

Now La Viola have met the value Liverpool have placed on the Argentine personal terms remain the only potential stumbling block.

However, few problems are expected.

Maynor Figueroa of Wigan Athletic has been identified as a replacement though should Insua leave the Reds will remain short of personnel in that position following Fabio Aurellio's summer departure.

Aurelio is being courted by a host of clubs and could join Aston Villa on a pay-as-you-play deal.

*does happy dance*

Hopefully Cecil will also tell Woy that negotiations for the sale of Lucas had also started "before he arrived" and so he has no say in that sale either.

But wont that mean more ammo against the appointment of Roy in the first place?

Make up your mind Brendan!

Add £2-3m to that and we can get a decent left back.

which hopefully will happen when a rich team from morocco wants to bring their hero El Zhar to them

If someone had said at the start of the summer we'd get around £8m for Insua and El Dud, i would of laughed uncontrollably. I wonder what we'll get for Lucas?

I cant see us getting 2-3mil for el zhar, he is shit! i reckon he will go on loan somewhere or we will be lucky to get 1mil for him.
6mil for insua/el zhar and another 7 mil for lucas.. that'd be great 🙂

[/quote]

Serie A may be played at a slower pace, but I think calling it "shit" is a bit strong, you massive zlatan, zlatan

Yeah, so closer to 2M.

I'm not as happy as everyone else because although 5M isn't a bad fee, this leaves us with no LBs at all.

5m is a load of balls for a young lad with a couple of years Prem experience and Argentine international caps.

Er, so?

Do you think Woy hasn't noticed that? Or perhaps he'll get to the morning of the opening game and start putting his teamsheet together and suddenly "Oh FUCK! I forgot we had no left-backs"

It's like people saying "we can't sell Lucas, we have no midfielders" WE'LL FUCKING BUY SOME.

he was quite unsuited to this league though crumpy. It wouldn't surprise me if in a few years he moved on for a lot more money however

No, because we're skint. But we'll buy a better one that Insua, who we had to sell in order to do that. Because we're skint.

That said, maybe Woy will manage to buy a *worse* LB. We've done it before.

Didn't he turn down a pay-as-you-play deal with us?

Well, we'll see how the transfer window develops and whether we could've gotten away without selling him.

Hopefully Agger is not viewed as a backup LB, but perhaps he is.
