To be fair to Ross he always said that Fergueson was the exception to that particular rule of his.

Yeah, but that wasn't really my point(which was tongue in cheek anyway).

Moyes has got the same points with a totally different squad, meaning that Moyes has made a difference to both teams. Unless the theory is that all managers would be on the same points with that United squad.

Yes it's the second half of it - but it's obviously not that exact.

Moyes has made all mistakes you expect your average manager to make - changing the backroom staff, signing his old players for overinflated prices. All the stamping your authority on the club bullshit.

But I think anyone who thinks this is some great United squad that Moyes is ruining should look again. Ferguson walked away for a reason, he knew United were lucky last year, he knew the core of this side was on its way out and he knew the rebuilding wouldn't be too

To think if Arsenal hadn't sold Van Persie to Man U two seasons ago it would have been unlikely that they would have won last season's title.
I doubt if Van Persie would have been that keen on joining Man U at the start of this season and if Arsenal had held on to him they would be genuine title contenders.

I think anyone would take Arsenal over United now as a better proposition going forward

Yep. Arsenal look much better prepared for the future (and present).
I normally add that history shows us that we should never write MU down, but the man who wrote that history book is no longer in charge there so who knows...

Exactly. I took a look on Red Cafe yesterday and this is more or less what most were saying. That up to 13 players need to go/be sold. So it's not fair to put it all on the manager as the Glazers (and Ferguson - though United diehards wouldn't say it) also need to shoulder part of the blame.

It's a crap squad and will need a ton of cash spending on it. Some on RC are even seeing themselves dropping into the 2nd tier (of the past 2-3 seasons) of ourselves, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton, for the foreseeable future, and struggling to get back on even par with City & Chelsea (and possibly Arsenal).

This is very true and of course the Ferguson loving media don't highlight it very much. He basically left his self chosen successor with a pile of shite.
