If there was one thing this year's world cup showed us - it was that the quality of players around the world has significantly declined. But to answer your question - of the rubbish that is available in world football that I have seen, I think the player that would make a difference to our team is

I'm not sure how serious his injury is, and if it was aggravated by playing in the WC. He went missing in pretty much every game for Chile, likely due to the injury.

Gerrard used to drive his teams forward through power....i have not seen many who do it the way he did. But Pogba looks like the kind of player who can top that......but at the moment he is quite raw and his head needs to be in the right place to be as good as Gerrard was.....there has been plenty of evidence its not in the right place....so 8ts difficult to call this one....
