Sheyi Ojo set up both goals as England U19s got their European Championship campaign off to a winning start by beating France 2-1 on Tuesday night.

In just the third minute of the Group B clash in Germany, the Liverpool winger’s testing cross into the middle forced an own goal to put his side ahead.
A pass from Ojo then released Dominic Solanke in the ninth minute to race clear and coolly slot past the goalkeeper, doubling the early advantage.
The French responded shortly after the half-hour mark through Jean-Kevin Augustin, but Aidy Boothroyd’s young England team preserved the victory.
Ojo, who was withdrawn on 65 minutes, will now hope to be involved in England’s second game of the tournament – against the Netherlands on Friday

All very promising and he is no doubt talented, but until he actually goes on to prove at first team level; it is still potential. (This is a general comment, not a response to your point of view; which I think is actually broadly the same as mine.)

I'm a big fan of Ojo and really hope he makes it. In order to do that, he first needs chances - then he has to take them. Hopefully his path to the first team is a little clearer now.

Ojo and Ibe is the same type of players. The main difference between the two is that Ojo have much better game intelligence. He know when to make a pass and when he should keep the ball. Ibe makes the wrong decision over and over again.

I think that Ojo will be a starting XI player for us the 2017-18 season. I would compere him to a young Gareth Bale.
So what youre saying is they are both black.

Hatemonger.

Good luck to him. If he's boss we can re sign him or we'll get a bit more cash with the sell on clause.

Very good business by the club.

never would have thought any club would have offered £15m for him....1 goal in 40 prem appearances. Really braindead player who's career has not kicked on.

It's only good business if we actually spend the money on someone useful, if not better.

Apparently everyone forgot that part.

Jordon Ibe: "I have to thank Frank McParland and Alex Inglethorpe. They helped develop me from the under-16s to the first team."

[article]Jordon Ibe believes AFC Bournemouth will provide the perfect environment for him to continue to progress his game.

The 20-year-old winger, who has penned a four-year deal at Vitality Stadium, also admitted that the Cherries’ young squad and style of play helped to sway his decision making.

“It’s exciting,” Ibe told Cherries Player HD.

“I like the philosophy the manager has got here and there are a lot of good, young players so it’s a good place for me to kick on and do well.

“The team play the same style of football as Brendan Rogers used to play at Liverpool, which is something that I like.”

The England under-21 international has made the switch from Liverpool after clocking up 41 appearances for the Reds last term.

And Ibe was quick to show his gratitude to the staff at Anfield for their support during his time with the club.

“It’s been five seasons at Liverpool,” he continued.

“I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly and I have to thank Frank McParland and Alex Inglethorpe from the youth team. They’ve helped and developed me from the under-16s to the first team.

“But this is a great opportunity for me to help take another step in my career and develop as a player.”[/article]

I'd be surprised if any buy back clauses work. If a player leaves then he'll probably never be that keen on coming back, and if it's for a lower fee than other big clubs will offer then he and his agent will block it. The sell-on clause is certainly a good idea. It's still odd how poor Ibe was in the latter part of the season, he just seemed to lose the plot.

It's certainly a good thing that we can produce youth players that are surplus to the team yet good enough to be sold for £15m and justify the price.

It just worked for Real Madrid and Morata. I think they just bought him back at around 25m Euros ?

It began to look increasingly unlikely that he was going to find himself and kick on at Liverpool so ultimately it doesn't matter whether or not he turns into a 40M player at Bournemouth (which I don't see).

We got a good fee and hopefully the buy-back / sell-on clauses will cover us well enough should he come good.

Yes. But we're not Real Madrid. We're a team that usually competes with the likes of Southampton and West Ham for Europa League places. If a player goes off, enhances his reputation, a buy back clause for us matters far less than a sell on clause.

Having both clauses is better than just one right?
