wish they'd bought us instead? We might have cost them a few hundred million more upfront, but - given our history, our huge global fanbase, our manager's international renown and the fact we've already got CL football - we would have been able to sign the likes of Kaka and Eto'o without having to offer astronomical wages. It would have been cheaper (and quicker) for them in the long run.

Seriously, why City and not Liverpool?

City were far easier to buy. Probably nothing more in it.

Sadly, that's just it.

Were Moores to hang on a little longer our new stadium would be half-finished & we'd have Kaka, Eto'o & a few other "galactico's" playing for us too.

As great as that is, I'm still holding on to some ideals that we're kind of doing things the 'right way', at least in terms of building gradually and I'm loving this new found stability and Rafa 'finally' starting to stick with a balanced lineup.

We've got some brilliant players that we've picked up relatively cheap, in comparison to City's recent purchases, many of whom I'd wager prove to be mercenaries in the longterm.

Fuck'em.

I doubt that very much. My personal opinion is with the man city arabs as owners we'd more than likely be in for bigger better players but in terms of getting the stadium built it would be far more likely under the yanks.

You sir, are mad as a hatter.

The only reason the new stadium isnt being built is cos the previous & current ownership didnt & havent got the collateral to stand for the loan. The stadium will quite literally pay for itself.

If we had owners with more collateral we would have a new stadium by default.

Ok maybe I'm not that good at inerpreting drunken spazmoids after all.

it's cheaper to buy a plastic club at a fraction of the price and buy up players than it is to just buy Liverpool, that's the problem.

arabs dont understand the tradition and pecking order of football and that LFC is considered a European giant.

I think we can all agree the yanks wanted to buy liverpool for peanuts build up the assest and then sell for as much as possible. I absolutely believe it's only because of the current climate that work hasn't begun already. Hicks in perticular has past experience with building stadiums. Basically the yanks WANT to build the new stadium but are unable to currently because of the recession.

I don't think the arabs want to make that kind of investment. am I correct in thinking man city don't own their ground? why then aren't they using the tens of millions they are currently spending in either securing their ground or making plans to build their own?

They dont need to. The stadium makes a statement as it's damn impressive. They're all about show.

Building a ground for NOTHING, cos it would cost them nothing, as I said, it'd pay for itself & they'd get all the credit. It'd also help get new players in.

well we'll never know but I think the idea of building a stadium turned off a lot of investers when we were whoring ourselves, kraft as much as said so.

Zero. He has previous experience in planning and promising new stadiums though.

That's what I thought. Thanks

Eastlands does not hold much more than Anfield, if any, and it's the bums on seats that is the issue, not the design
