Happens all the time nowadays. Renato Sanchez to Bayern. Andre Gomes to Barca. Andre Silva to Milan. The Brazilian teenager Real Madrid paid 35M for a few weeks back. Clubs are more and more willing to gamble on potential, because once it's anywhere close to being realized, the players become not just expensive, but almost unattainable – even your Leipzig or Spurs or Monaco have no pressure to sell their best players any more.
