I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

This is the Kicker report:

Hasenhüttl: Keita and Forsberg feel "superwohl"

Naby Keita and Emil Forsberg desperately wanted to leave Leipzig in summer, but RB refused to offer dizzying offers. How do the two service providers deal with the categorical "no"? Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl sees no problems at all.

Must stay in Leipzig - and according to their coach according to live well: Naby Keita and Emil Forsberg (r.).

Since Thursday, Naby Keita (22) and Emil Forsberg (25) are back in training at RB Leipzig, which seems to be anything but reluctant. "You can tell them that they feel very comfortable and look forward to the new season," says coach Ralph Hasenhüttl in the kicker. "They know very well what they have to us."
And yet both would have liked to leave behind this: Keita and Forsberg forced a change - but RB categorically said no. Sports director Ralf Rangnick, currently on vacation, declined the Liverpool offer of around 68 million euros, reiterating once again that there is "no pain threshold", any further offers could be saved.

The same is true of Forsberg, who is enthusiastic about AC Milan and whose consultant Hasan Cetinkaya had been fighting for a transfer with all his might. However, according to kicker information, there was still no offer for Sweden to RB.
"Our goal is to become a large and established club"

"It is a huge compliment for us that we have aroused such desires," says Hasenhüttl. "But it is not the purpose and purpose of our journey to let our players get their first offer." "Our goal is to become a large and well-established club, and that is what we have done this summer, a significant step."
The next summer, it may look different: Keita, who came to Salzburg only in 2016, can then get out of his contract, which runs until 2020, prematurely by 55 million euros. When the renews in February to 2022 ("I feel absolutely right and appreciated here and would like to achieve much with RB Leipzig"), consultant Cetinkaya did not allow any exit scenario. Leipzig can therefore say no longer at Forsberg.

Errr, that' doesn't quite translate to Keita knows he is staying here for 12 months.

Considering the whole release clause activating next summer I'd be surprised if they' didn't accept a £20m premium on top to lose him 12 months earlier

Liverpool's pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has been dealt a blow after the Bundesliga side effectively warned off the Premier League club, Press Association Sport reports.
Jurgen Klopp has held a long-term interest in Keita, 22, which has led to much speculation about the Guinea international.
However, all summer Leipzig have been steadfast in their stance that he will not be sold and Press Association Sport reports they have contacted Liverpool to re-emphasise this.
That would leave Keita, who returned for preseason training on Thursday, having to push for a move just one year after joining from sister club Salzburg.

Meanwhile, Emil Forsberg has abandoned all hopes of leaving Leipzig this summer after the midfielder joined up with his teammates for preseason this week.
Having flirted with a transfer to AC Milan where he hoped to "make the next step" in his career, Forsberg will instead continue with Leipzig, his agent Hasan Cetinkaya has said.
"We will not seek further talks with [sporting director] Ralf Rangnick. Leipzig won't allow Emil a transfer this summer," Cetinkaya told Bild, which added that Forsberg has no release clause in his contract.
Instead of working on a move away from Leipzig, Forsberg completed a fitness test on Wednesday and will train with his teammates for the first time this season on Thursday.
Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff last month reminded Cetinkaya that Forsberg is under contract with the club, even offering to send him a copy.

Now, the eternal optimist in me says that Forsberg has given up on a move, but that we still have a chance at Keita.

I agree.

Yep. We need midfielders and defenders before another forward.
Also for the simple fact i'm much happy splashing out 70 odd million on a 22 year old than on a 28 year old. Obviously Skrillex has done much more with his career to do, but I'm of the opinion he's reached his peak, and whilst he's probably got a couple of top seasons in him, the only way is down from here for him in my mind.

Its doing my nut all this

I'm feeling just fine private Oncy. Just fine. Nice job with the latrines by the way.

A great midfield makes you a very difficult to side to beat, but doesn't necessarily lead to trophies, especially the PL title.

For that you need to load your attack, and have a strong CB pairing. Shore up the defence, fill the midfield with workers (which we have enough of), and you can still win.

Add Aubameyang to our attack, and it'll become pretty much unstoppable.

Aubameyang, Mane, Salah - are you kidding me? Add Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana etc to create.

That's a guaranteed titled challenge at the very least.

Even if Aubameyang is 28, I'd do it. He'd offer 2 seasons tops, but so what? The PL title has become less about a concerted squad-building effort over a period of time, and more about all the chips falling in line for that particular season.

That reminds me more of our title challenge in 13/14, then a title winning side.
So you wouldn't be happy with a year where we had a chance to win the title on the last day of the season?

If that's what Aubameyang represents, we're crazy not to be in for him.

I think we have a better chance with Keita and VVD in the side. Our core is stronger and our defense would be much better.
Scoring goals wasnt a problem last season, and we've added Salah.

Indeed. But I'm not sure it is. In fact, I'm certain it isn't. He's nothing like Suarez and our problems are at the back, not at front. I think, anyway.

There's a guy on RC who's saying it's done, but naturally won't divulge his sources, at €65m and everything else is just posturing until it's all finalised.

I choose to believe him until proven otherwise! Fuel for the campfire.

All getting a bit exciting on Twitter today, German sources are insinuating that it's not going to happen, English sources are suggesting a new bid is coming in and a deal is likely. Who to believe?

Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol isn’t buying Leipzig’s stance that they are unwilling to sell Naby Keita to Liverpool.
In fact, he insists that senior figures at the club are now happy to sell the Guinea midfielder.
“We are expecting some progress on Naby Keita to Liverpool,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.
“Liverpool flew to Hong Kong yesterday but no let up in their efforts to try and sign Naby Keita.
“We are expecting them to make a second bid for the RB Leipzig midfielder.
Keita has told Leipzig he wants to leave, he’s told them he wants to move to Liverpool. A £57million offer has been rejected but senior figures at Leipzig now want to sell Keita.
“A Liverpool bid of more than £60million should be on its way this week.”
