Duncan Ferguson was fantastic.
Cantona REALLY pisses me off. Sky's "profile" footballer. And even now they're trying to turn him into Shakespeare. Fuck off. The King? How many goals have you score in European Cup Final's? Oh.

His celebration at OT against Suderland when he played a 1-2 with Bryan Mcclair before chipping the keeper is probably my all time favourite from a non Irish/Liverpool player.
Just looking around as if to say 'ya I'm the man".

Ha.
I often quote the same celebration when talking about a mixture of worst celebrations ever and biggest cocks to have played in the Premier League. I'm not surprised you rate it.
It wasn't arrogance, it wasn't 'cool', it wasn't aloof. It was an overrated, pretentious, conceited fool looking like a fucking tool shortly after scoring against Lionel fucking Perez.
Cantona's problem was that he thought he was Maradona. It's alright swanning round the Pemier League with your collar up when you're spanking Ipswich 9-0, and your most difficult opponent is Neil Ruddock. You come up looking like a tool though when it's pointed out that never once did you do it on the biggest stage for your club or country.
A good player, grossly overrated because he was French and *different*. He can fuck right off.

Yeah, I largely agree. I think a lot of the Cantona hype occurred because he was a foreign star at the time the First Division became the Premier League (so Sky desperately needed stars) but before the league became a genuine lure for world-class international footballers. In other words, he was pretty much zee only Frenchman in zee village. Same applies to Ginola, Ardiles, Juninho... would any of them really be regarded as geniuses if they'd been playing against top-level foreign talent every week?
[/quote]
Juninho would have - he was utter quality.
Zola was one I always liked to watch playing even thought it was for Chelsea. Wonderful player who simply loved playing the game the way it should be played.
Ruud Gullit was another I really enjoyed watching and quite liked him as a manager as well - there was a sense of fairness about him and his talent was pretty much beyond question.
I'm a little worried at the Chelsea flavour there so I'll just add Giggs to the list. Sensational winger who would, IMO, have been an all time great if he'd had a right foot. His comment that he didn't read a newspaper or watch the TV for two weeks after Istanbul also somehow endeared him to me even more.
