Move up north. Then you wouldn't have to suffer their fans.
I was just about to point out the north south divide, we don't hate them as we don't have to put up with any of their fans shite.

Four words...

Gareth Bale's monkey face.

....Would look great in all red, bombing down our left wing.

Quoted for truth.

I fear there's a tinge of green forming around the head gear of your avatar Oncy.

I don't really like any other teams in the league though I do have a soft spot for Southampton mostly due to Le Tiss. I once had a soft spot for West Ham but that has passed some time ago.

For Spurs - well, I quite admire them on one level to be honest. They've nothing like our history but they're streets ahead of most other teams. What they've done in the last 10 years is something I imagine many posters wish we had done; they've built themselves up steadily and 5 or 6 years ago the cheap, value transfers they were making were outstanding. They've had a fair bit of money put into them since then but, without having gone back and looked up the details, I'd warrant a lot of it is due to the good work of several years ago.

Harry, on the other hand... 😛
Not at all mate.
I hated them in the 80's as much as I do now. I hated that fucking Ricky Villa goal, Jug ears, their shitty hummell kits everything mate.
No envy at all. They are fucking cunts.

I agree with Wiz.

I hate them but only because they're good now and have steadily built themselves a decent side over the past few years. It just rubs in the fact that we could've been so much more had we not so consistently sabotaged ourselves.

Have a soft spot for them as my dad's a fan. My mum has got him tickets to go over for his first match in the new year.

Hate Harry.

Oh and as Themn said, nice bit of ignorance about their history (unless 'history' began with Sky and the premier league)

Don't mind them. They have their own supporters club in town (pop 14,000, the town not the supporters club) and I know an awful lot of them have stuck with the club through thick and thin, it's been mostly thin as well.

Their board screwed over Jol which made me dislike them a bit, but it happens in football and their portrayal in the media is annoying but I don't hold that against the club.

Im not sure where the hatred of Bale comes from. The media hype is hardly his fault, and Id love to see him playing for us.

In relation to the 'ignorance', of the four major trophies (League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League) Tottenham have won 14, League twice, FA Cup 8 times, League Cup 4 times.

The team we sing about having no history has also won 14 major trophies, League 4 times, FA Cup 6 times, League Cup 4 times, and that's more recent than Tottenham.

Its not the team so much i dislike as the fans.... some of the biggest cunts I've ever met are spurs fans. living abroad you tend to get to know all the expats ... especially watching the footy ... recently the local spurs contingent have been bolstered by this huge ugly cunt of a fella who standing about 6'8" just cannot wait for me to chin him.... bare in mind imo just your average mild mannered janitor here.... i cannot stand the prick ... He never fails to cheer for whoever we are playing against regardless even when we lost to Luton (?) in the cup last year ... he took so much delight in Fulham turning us over on Monday that i actually left the gym early when i saw it was 2 nil so that i could rub his fucking nose in it .... sadly the cunt had already left by the time i got there. fucking hate em

When they won the FA Cup in 1901, they were non-league.
They remain the only non-league team to win the FA Cup.

2 UEFA Cups, or don't they count as major ?

The Cup Winners' Cup they won in 1963 made them the first British team to win a European trophy.

First club to do "The Double" 1960-61 in the 20th Century.

Before us.
Before Man U
Before Arsenal.

As for being "shitty" and "little", well, their ground isn't that big, but it's always full and the support is banging.

And you know they're trying to move to a bigger place, don't you ?

Bale's a great player and I'd love him if he played for us.

But he doesn't and I hate his face.

That's allowed, right?

No it isn't and you smell of parsnips.

I don't like them now they're better than us, but that would be true of anyone really.

They're pretty inoffensive as a club.

I dont like Spurs because they always seem to beat us yet roll over when they face the other bigger teams.

I hate Harry Redknapp.

I don't like the media adulation over Gareth Bale.

I hate Ledley King because he ALWAYS seems to play against us even if he has been injured forever. And to make things worse, he plays well against us yet goes on to miss the next game.

I hate Spurs because their fans have been talking about supplanting us in the Big 4 for yonks; now they have...and are totally insufferable

I can't speak for every other fan but surely - at least for me - the point about no history is that the Chavs have only just started doing it since a bloody oligarch from some unpronouncable town in Russia walked into Engand and bought them. Spurs - love them or hate them - have been doing it for eons...... in fact, if my old man is right, they've been doing it for longer than us.

I certainly don't think they can hold a candle to our record but they've got some genuine history to be proud of, they play a pretty attractive style of football and they've not gone off and found a Sheik or Russian oil baron to do it; they've done it (largely) the old fashioned way and no small amount of nous in the transfer market. Plus, I think some of our greatest performances have come against them; the greatest goal ever scored (certainly by us) and, some years later, our greatest ever performance IMO which I think ended 4-nil or something similar. The football we played in that 90 minutes was ahead of 5-nil Forest etc; champaigne stuff which I wish I could find a DVD of.

Its their fans really; thats why there is a North/South divide in the hatred; you live on Merseyside you never get to meet one, down here you obviously meet loads.

Never met a bunch of more racist, bigoted fuckers ever - and whoever posted it is right; they GENUINELY believe they are the greatest club to have ever existed.

Twats.

I'm glad this thread was made, really glad, as I may have mentioned before, I despise everything about Tottenham Hotspurs. Right from their fans, to their players, to their chairman, they're all intolerable. Their fans are just unbearable. Because they haven't been bought out, they're not in some super duper fancy stadium, they think they're better than everyone else because the world is against them. I've grown up around a lot of idiot Spurs fans, I'm from Essex and there is a Spurs store in my town centre (which has been bricked three times and pissed on by a pissed hammers fan who proceeded to then sing forever blowing bubbles whilst sat down on the window drinking out of a hipflask, top guy) so I'm right in the epicentre of these goons.

I hate Daniel Levy for a start, he's a complete bafoon. He's out spoken, thinks he knows best and always plays his club as the victim. Whilst I agree with him not selling Modric I hated the way he flaunted it all over the media and made Modric some sort of villian. Redknapp too, i don't dislike him that much, but at Tottenham he has this stupid attitude too, and him moaning about the referee yesterday who gave a penalty for a blatant dives, grow up Harry. The players too, Gareth Bale, it's not his fault, he seems like a decent guy, he's the victim of his face and the way the media have made him up to be Messi * Ronaldo. They have so many hateable characters in their team, Adebayor, Modric, Van der Vaart, Assou Ekoto and Lennon. They're all grad A tools. Most of there team is infact, save Parker and Friedel.

Like has been mentioned, it's the fans that make me hate them. I think it's a combination of them being deluded and a mixture of what I mentioned earlier, them thinking they've had it hard and overcome so much more than every other club to be where they are. It's this self absorbtion that shines through the club and makes them completely intolerable. I've heard it all over the years, "Lennon is the best winger in the premier league and is the fastest person on the planet with the ball at his feet" "Carrick is twice the passer Alonso is, best passer in the world" "King is the best defender in England times two" "Gomes makes Reina look like a Sunday league goalkeeper" "Huddlestone already as good as Gerrard and will be twice the player Gerrard ever was when he peaks" these are all legitamate quotes i've heard from a variety of Tottenham fans over the last 6 years and more recently (this season) "Tottenham are the fastest team on the planet" "Tottenham play the best football on the planet bar Barcelona". It's insufferable.

I know all fans have these deluded elements it just seems that Spurs have them in a lot higher numbers, in fact every Spurs fan i've met has been deluded in such fashion. Tottenham Hotspur are the epitome of delusions of grandeur and I pray to god they fall back into the obscurity of mid table where they belong.

I HATE THEM.

Not going to happen so long as they're so well run - a model most of us wish we had followed some years ago.

I found their crappiness and lack of success endearing.

Now that they are good, I hate them.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was in no doubt refereeing decisions cost his side after a controversial 2-1 defeat at Stoke.

Spurs suffered their first Premier League loss since August after having Younes Kaboul sent off and seeing several penalty claims denied.

Redknapp said: "We came away with nothing because there were two blatant handballs on the line and Adebayor was two yards onside when the ball was played to him. That's why we've come away with nothing.

"We were poor first half, I hold my hand up. We didn't play well. But we changed it at half-time and in the second half we battered them. Unfortunately a couple of decisions he [Foy] got completely and utterly wrong. I'm sure if you watch the TV you'll see it.

"When the ball gets rattled in and the fella on the line goes like that with his arm, it's handball. Kaboul gets a booking for saying to the referee it was a penalty, then he gets another yellow card near the end for an innocuous... That was no worse a challenge... It was a foul but...''

Redknapp said he spoke to Foy after the game about his decisions. He said: "Yes I told him. I never go and talk to referees after a game, I accept defeat. I never complain about referees' decisions - I have not done it in 30 years of management, never. But today, I'm afraid, he got some badly wrong.

"He hadn't seen them, but when he goes home tonight and watches them, he'll realise he got a couple badly wrong, and the linesman... When someone's two yards onside, like Adebayor was, how's the linesman not seen it?''

And Redknapp was not finished there. He said: "To be honest from the start of the game, I felt like he wasn't going to give us much today. I just felt like he was quite enjoying not giving us anything.

"He's not made mistakes because he meant to, he is an honest guy but today I just felt he had a bad day, and so did the linesman who missed Adebayor being two yards onside. He'll look at it tonight, on TV, when his wife is making him a bacon sandwich and think, 'Oh **** me, what have I done there?'''

-I hate Spurs because of their fans, they win a few games and go on about how they are about to win the league.
They have a small club mentality.
-Letting big leads slip against united, especially 2 years ago when two nill up against Utd at Old Trafford that was a pivotal moment in the league. They have no back bone and until they start consistently doing so away from home, they will remain a bunch of small timers. I mean before last season, what was their record like away from against the sky top 4 ( the name they use), never beat any of them in something like 60 games, a load of rubbish.
