If we have a good summer in the transfer market people will have to give Purslow some credit.
Along with Broughton he's the antichrist according to some people

*Pats seat next to him aboard Purslows dark chariot*

Come on Sunny.

I'm not sure Huntelaar is what we need or if he is even good enough for the Premiership.
I would like to be rid of Babel, but not this way.

I'd be delighted with Huntelaar as back-up to Torres (given Torres is bound to be out at some point over the season). He'd also be useful off the subs bench with 20 minutes to go if we're chasing a goal.

I think the Premiership would suit him.

He's proven he can score goals in Holland, Spain and Italy, I'm not going go to doubt his ability to score in the Premier league, he's clearly a half decent player - we could do worse.

Babel out - Bellers and KJH in.

Everyone knows how much I rate Klaas Jan Huntelaar. We could always do with goals.

I'm amazed that other people don't rate him.

If he goes to Utd he'll score buckets and then I'll cry.

I rate him - but I don't think his strengths suit the English league.

He did well in Spain, when he played. 8 goals in 20 games, and I think there were many sub appearances in that.

I'd be amazed if he came as backup to Torres or to come off the bench with 20 minuts left when we needed a goal

Not sure what to make of this tbh. The article says he will sign if Torres leaves.
If you ignore the Torres bit then seeing that Milan want Babel, its good business.
How reliable are IL Corriero ((excuse spelling)?
No idea, probably as (un)reliable as the British media when it comes to transfer speculation.
Maybe not. I'm told it has a fair reputation for breaking genuine stories early. Doesn't mean to say there's anything in this one, but still....

We have pace in Torres, strikers dont need pace if they have intelligent positioning and movement.

Roy is very comfortable playing two up front....

Fair enough. I was just commenting on people basically saying that he would be good for backup or as an impact sub.

Maxi Gerrard Cole Jovanovich

Gerrard Aquilani in the middle isn't a view thats popular on these boards..
To be fair Im not sure we'll need to play them together - we'll sign a LB, and then the top priority will be using the Mascher money (first and foremost) on a MF replacement

Gerrard and Cole in central midfield playing 4-4-2? Yikes!

-----------Torres--------------

-------Cole-----Huntelaar------

Flamini-----Aquilani----Gerrard

****--Agger---Carra---Glenjo

------------Reina-----------------

Some of those lineups are unbelieveably stupid

Huntelaar would never play wide attacking mid and Cole would never play CM in a 442

Daft cnuts

The classic christmas tree formation..!

Swap Cole with Flamini then Flamini with Aquilani.. Even then I doubt we'd play it as a viable formation.

Huntelaar for Babel would obviously be a good deal, but if it's at the expense of Torres I think I'll cry.

To be honest, I doubt this journalist has the exclusive of both Torres leaving *and* the Huntelaar to Babel deal.
