Hull / Season post-mortem

Markeh: possibly, but I never thought it was that bad TBH, and having Mascher back there taking care of business would release some of the more creative players to be more available to start attacking moves. Either way, IMO we need at least one decent Mascher-type player in the squad, but I'm not sure Klopp sees it that way.

Definitely wouldn't be a bad thing to have that player in the squad. But given the way teams line up against us they can't be a pure demolition man because 60+ percent of the match we'll have the ball and how they use it will be just as important

How do teams line up against Chelsea

I want to give @manwithnoname , and @Dreambeliever a like but admire your misguided enthusiasm so I will refrain for now. However, surely you must realize that just after the City win - we were title contenders and then within a month all that hard work and everything has now dropped us to fifth ? - if you have not picked up on it yet then surely even you must realize we are on a downward spiral - defeat after defeat and inconsistency has been the name of the game in the last 10 games. If they were league games then that would account for nearly a quarter of a season and if you count the league games we have got 2 points from 12. That my friend is utter SHIT ok ?

As for 2016 and the way we play - I can confirm that I do like the way we play it takes the tension out of the way having the ball most of the time, but the overall facts about us losing 2 cup finals and finishing 8th is SHIT too. At this point in time when I watch us losing these games or drawing after leading or conceding the way we have done - I think Albert Einsteins quote regarding Insanity :- "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". You do also realize that round about 2015 Christmas time we were actually also in a position not far from the top of the league ? - only to spectacularly draw games and then lose games and ended up 8th ?

Despite my better judgement and current feelings - I have some glimmer of hope that the players can still redeem themselves somewhat if they really want it and use their heads a bit more in games. Even though 1st is out of reach - I don't believe that 2nd or 3rd place is out of reach but it all depends on how we react right now. But that hope is very very small.

Best Wishes

For gods sake Moron. If you want to give them a like give them a like. An Old fart like me wouldn't give a damn on who gets like on the internet forums when it comes to football. Just don't go out there and like some bad shit my friend cause I dont take that easy!!

But to be honest coming on here every fucking day to read doom and gloom and that Matip is slow and Firmino is poor and Hendo has gout and Klopp doesn't have a clue and on the story goes. Again and again. Every thread has the same.

Yes we had a shit month. But it is over. Behind us. We can look forward and attack next game. We can moan and moan and moan but we will not change any result that happened so far in 2017. All we can do is get behind the team to improve the coming results in 2017. There is no rule that we should win the semis in the league cup. We fought out a though battle and lost it. Devastating but that can happen. FA cup... what to say, the Young guys got a taste, and will not get another. Sad, but they'll learn. This Year we don't have the depth in squad so it is no big deal anyway if we qualify top 4.

People talks out their arse to much. If people don't believe Klopp is here to build and empire they dont have a clue. The same people that moan about the poor squad we have also moan about we not adding any more poor players to the squad. Fuck it. We have enough mediocre players around to moan about. I am totally fine with Klopp not adding any more to the club. "Buhuu I want Van Dijk... it is not fun when others have van Dijk and we have stupid Lovren.... ". We have Lovren. Back him and abuse Van Dijk, not the other way around for gods sake!!!

We let in too soft goals yes. But it is not like you and me see it and Klopp and Buvac doesn't notice it. We have started a total refurbishment of the club. But thing takes time. We cant hire a fitness guy one day and next morningen we are 100% fit? So we sulk. We sulk when we only beat Swansea 2-1 at home. We sulk when we lead Palace 3-2 away at half time because Firmino wasn't amongst the goalscorers. We sulk when we drew away at Sunderland and we gave Chelsea the Credit and slammed our team in a 1-1 draw.

And 2016. Some highs and some lows. Will not take all here and it really deserves its own thread (probably would end in a insightful discussion on how Firminos goals or lack of goals affect the team peeformance but still Worth an own thread). But who would be without glorius moments a la:
- Starting the Year qualifying for a final!
- Glorius victories over Man U in Europe!
-That Lovren header when we were dead and burried!
- Getting rid of deadwood an mass in the summer!
- Taking Barcelona for a Tiki taka danse (yeah friendly but it is a fun dance anyway)!
- United getting Mourinho and City getting Pep and both actually would prefer Klopp
- The cocky Mourinho start ending in him getting irritated at Liverpool ("I guess they are not the eight wonder of the world after all" after parking the bus at Anfield)
- Mane
- Coutinho
- Woodburns first goal!

Lots of fun stuff that at least I take pleasure from. I watch every single game with a sky high pulse so I might as well be entertained from time to time! Fuck it. Even I will like their posts. It is not dangerous. We are only more or less sensible guys on a innocent forum!! 🙂

@Insignificance

You have to understand something every time we do shit like this - it takes me to the moment when Dion fucking Dublin headed that ball in for Coventry City after us having beaten Newcastle 4-3 and getting back into a title winning race. That same shitty feeling is there - never goes away, how many more years of this sort of shit does one have to put up with ? - I still find it hard that a club of our standing just cannot win a title - you look at the rest of the continent and their same top clubs are always winning it or something like that. It is seriously becoming old history now isn't it ? cannot believe it.

I appreciate you mentioning the great highs of last year - and yes I remember them with great joy but winning something.. something is also very meaningful as an end game to show for all the effort. That's all, and what makes it worse is the draws and wins against the top sides and then losing/drawing to the bottom and middle teams - not just this season but nearly every fucking season for the last 25 years. You look at West Ham the other weekend - how do they manage to beat Southampton 1-3 and we can't even score a goal against them ? none of it makes sense to me anymore. Sometimes I think nearly every team rises to the challenge when we turn up and just don't bother when the other big teams turn up. Maybe we should just let them have the ball and stop playing this possession dominance game that we do now so that these cretin fucking busses come out and open up. It really angers me when I see no fight in our team against the lower teams - and yet Chelsea turn up and you see the hard tackles and shit. Don't they know they have to rise up against the lower shit to ? - just what is it ? - tell me someone just fucking tell me ?

I have one game to look forward to each week now until the end of the season like most of you - those players .. they really need to use their heads. I don't doubt their efforts they run around enough for us to last a life-time currently. But I go to bed quoting the words of our football enemy - Jose Mourinho with his comments for his players that need to be applied to our players:-

"Playing to win, having the responsibility to win, and coping with the pressure of winning is something that has to belong to your natural habitat, - For some guys, it doesn't."

You can despise the guy - but those words are so true of many of today's footballers - especially ours of late.

Thank you,

MORON

2016 we outscored everyone, qualified for finals and played wonderful football. The point is it counts for nothing how a fucking Year is. What does it mattered if this is the worst opening to a Year ever? We dont play Year by Year but season by season. This season is far from over. It would mean Jack shit if we lost all games in october instead of January if they are in the same season.

Jesus fucking Christ it's post like this that have me wondering what sort of shit must I post when I'm seen as the idiot of the forum.

We won zero trophies in 2016 and finished 8th. We are gonna win zero trophies in 2017 and going from Top to 13 behind and not looking like turning it around.

Or if you want it seasonally

We won zero trophies in 2015/16 and finished 8th

We will win zero trophies in 2016/17 and have capiltulated in the league from top to 13 points adrift in a few months.

1 fucking win in our last 10 ffs.

2016 was a good year because we played good football and scored lots of goals.

We aren't fucking Newcastle of 95/96.

Last year was an utter failure and this year is heading in the same direction.

Great 2016.

Fuck me

I love how all the brains trust who love putting out weakened sides in the cups moan like little bitches when we don't win anything.

Wow Moron. Thats some serious emotions there. I like it. Good post.

Noone likes to lose games and especially not going through bad patches. And we have suffered enough setbacks in crucial stages to feel on the frustration of another wasted opportunity. Maybe we are not meant to achieve more than glimmers of hope? Or Maybe this time it is different. This time we got hold of the manager that worked different and albeit setbacks actually takes us in the right direction. We don't know yet. But it is hard to see who would have better chance to do it

It is a tough week we just left behind us. The team has started the preps against Spurs already. Possibly the worst opponent right now. A cocky Spurs with confidence they'll beat us. And a frustrated fangroup raising doubts about our ability. Pressure from everywhere will be on our players in a game that can take us within a point or two behind second place. This is were we need to show unity and belief that we are special. The fans should be around Melwood supporting the team this week and when saturday eve comes the Spurs bus should be met with clear hostile message. They should be shaken when they leave for ground and even more so when entering the pitch. The team need the fans this weekend, deserved or not. If I wasn't tied up elsewhere I would have arranged a trip!!

That's true. I watched Dortmund occasionally during the their bad run in 2014 and it was not fun. Jurgen only turned it around after the winter break. On the flip side, Klopp has been responsible for some near record-breaking winning and unbeaten runs as well, like the 31 match unbeaten run with Dortmund in 2012, which brought them their 2nd title.

When the choice seemed to be between Klopp and Ancelotti a number of us warned that appointing Klopp wouldn't lead to an easy ride and one or two, including me, preferred Ancelotti - albeit narrowly - for that reason. Nonetheless, he's here now, he did really well in his first season and we have to let Klopp be Klopp. I for one am confident he'll get us where we want to be, because that's where he wants to be as well. It's early days yet. Keep the faith.

Liverpool FC ban for Sun journalists over Hillsborough

Liverpool FC has banned The Lying Rag journalists from its grounds over the newspaper's coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.
The newspaper has been widely boycotted in the city following a campaign by the Total Eclipse of The S*n group.
Its journalists will no longer be allowed on site to cover matches and press conferences.
The Lying Rag said the move was "bad for fans and bad for football". The club declined to comment.
The Total Eclipse of The S*n group tweeted: "Further to conversations with LFC directors we are happy to inform you that Sun journalists [will] no longer enjoy access to club premises."
A spokesman for the paper said it "deeply regrets" its reporting and understands the damage caused was still felt by many in the city.
"The Lying Rag and Liverpool FC have had a solid working relationship for the 28 years since the Hillsborough tragedy.
"Whilst we can't undo the damage done, we would like to further a dialogue with the city and to show that the paper has respect for the people of Liverpool.
"Banning journalists from a club is bad for fans and bad for football."

Like fuck it is you cheeky lowlife pondscum cunts! About fucking time!
