I thought we were superb. We controlled possession, our movement was superb, the effort and technical precision was top drawer. All we lacked was a bit of luck in front of goal and we were very unfortunate to concede against the run of play.
Are you Rodgers in disguise ???

And yet Johnson showed just how to get around that, Ibe did too, Sterling didn't at all - did he even get past his man once ? Never mind get to the by-line. Every match recently is the same .... we seem to spend the whole game trying one/twos to go directly through the centre of the oppositions defence.

I'm not defending Sterling particularly, but I still maintain our team is tough to play in for guys like him. The opposition feel secure in defending deep and in numbers.

Even really good players need that bit of space.

I'll be impressed if Rodgers manages to still be in charge come the start of next season. He may well have gripes about the transfer committee but he's completely mis-managed a number of our players, has been out-thought by luminaries such as Tim Sherwood and Steve Bruce, and publically gave up on 4th before then realising we still had an outside chance, and was then left trying (and failing) to motivate the players to fight for that spot until it was impossible.

Distribution.

Has there ever been a.more fucking stupid thing to judge a goalkeeper on

Its from the same line of thinking that football is about having loads of possession and the team that has more should win.

The big book of loser football has chapters on these things

Hmmmmm. Same accent as well...

No point in posting tonight about the game. Angry cant even describe it. I cant believe how poor we are and how easy it is to play against us.
I'm getting slowly fed up with Rodgers. I know its knee jerk after a loss but fuck me. Yet another awful display.
No plan, awful set up and just no passion at all to win the game.

Not just Bruce and Sherwood. Lennon worked him out, so did Gary Bowyer, so did Garry Monk, so did Nigel Pearson - the list goes on. He's built his claim to respect on his tactical nous. There's zero sign of that recently. The past two games he's started with an attacking player he's basically disowned. Why? It's taking the piss of all those fans who paid to follow the team.

You're in a very small minority if you think it doesn't matter.

I'm in small minority of clever people.

A goalkeepers job is to keep the ball out of the net. Simple. He's not responsible for us not being able to score.

Should we start criticising strikers for not making enough goal line clearances? they're important too.

Or what about centre backs for not getting into the box enough in open play? After all you're three times more likely to.score in the box than outside.

What other genius ideas are we missing?

He had space outside the fullback *everytime* yet continually chose to cut inside to run into a brick wall.

You're nearly as bad as BR.

Ridiculous comparisons too, which means you really don't have an argument.

It's end of season time, we are Newcastle in disguise.

Other than Stevie G who should play every game now, the others who are off or don't give a crap should be dumped and let's give the ones who actually want to play for us a run out.

Who cares about the result, just get some team spirit back.

Mignolet,

Flanagan (on crutches if necessary), Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno (even though he's shit but can't think of anyone else)

Henderson, Can, Gerrard, Ibe,

Coutinho, Lambert

Subs : Ward, Yesil, Canos, Lallana, Wilson, Kent, Phillips

Indeed. Straight into 3-4 Hull players, every ... single ... time. It was brainless or thoughtless, you choose your adjective.

Your a fucking cretin, they're ridiculous for a reason.

I'm sure when we look back on this season we'll all be thinking how much better it would have been had Mignolets distribution have been better.

It's vital.

It's been a criticism of him on 6CM since he arrived, by the majority. You thinking it is irrelevant is cretinous. Get over yourself.

It really is a poor part of his game.. has been all season..

Its not irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but it wasn't relevant tonights shortcomings. You're failing to see the wood for the trees, or barking up the wrong tree. Pick your tree analogy.

you can't overreact to our season and blame a 20yr lad for everything. There are senior pros here who have gone missing, not least the manager as well. one moment he is the messia next moment he is shocking.

He added: "Every season you have to look to try to improve. We've looked to do that in the couple of years.
"You can't hide away from that fact that we've lost over 50 goals and the reality is, that isn't in the team anymore and any team that loses that, you're going to struggle to maintain the levels that you were at.
"Our level last year, with [Luis] Suarez and [Daniel] Sturridge and those players, we still weren't tipped to be in the top four and were still written off. And that was with those players.

Unbelievable - what exactly did you do to improve our striking talent? Buy a 32yr old nobody and spent 25m on a midfielder who is light as a feather - last but not least, you put our striking eggs into an egomanic basket case who can't press to save his life.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has blamed his side's1-0 defeat away at Hull City on "poor defending", adding that he wasn't confident of seeing his side qualify for this year's Champions League.

Michael Dawson nodded home the only goal of the game eight minutes before half time to condemn the Reds to a third Premier League defeat in five, leaving them seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with four games remaining.

Rodgers told BBC Sport after the game: "We just lacked that killer instinct in the final third. We are disappointed with the goal. Apart from that we didn't have too many chances against us. It was poor defending from us.

"We were never enough of a threat. It's been a mark of the season really, in that final third we have struggled.
"It was always going to be difficult for us [to make the top four]. The opportunity was tough this year in terms of where we were at as a team."

No, Brendan, we didn't JUST lack that 'killer instinct'. If we had, we'd still have set up loads of chances. We actually didn't even get close to finding out if we had a killer instinct, because we couldn't even build an attack enough to get that close. Starting with a centre forward he hates - he's blatantly trying to show FSG he's right about what we lack, whilst distancing himself and his massive tactical brain from any responsibility. And that's while the mancs were still technically in catching distance. Disgraceful.
