I liked what Markovic showed today. I'd like to see him start the last few games of the season instead of Sterling (i.e. further up, not at wing back). The summer buys and promising youngsters should just start the last few games in their favoured positions. Well, all bar Balotelli, who can go house-hunting in Genoa.

Oh come on, in one half time I gave you two examples FFS!

I'd sound similar if you asked me to score a us footy match or hockey, but then if you paid me for it I'd sure as hell learn quickly enough!

So my sad attempt at punning failed. Or you are so accustomed to screwy American syntax that you didn't even notice! 🙂

Very good : Ibe,
Good : Allen, Coutinho
Average : Ming, Johnson, Can, Lovren, Lallana, Lambert, Henderson
Poor : Skrtel, Markovic
Utter Shite : Sterling
Utter Liability (better off with 10 men) : Balotelli

BR can just fuck off. I thought him worth another season .. not now. He reverts to his favoured Back 4 and we promptly lose 3 games on the bounce.

Where was the width ? Ibe gave it to us and look at the danger he created so what does BR do ? Takes Ibe off and leaves Sterling, playing like a fucking turd on, because taking him off may not be good for the contract negotiations.

We have been toothless for a while and Rodgers has no fucking idea how to solve it. We play like the Arsenal of old, possession football and try to walk it through defences - that is never going to work, I'm seething.

We should of started with Yesil.. It could of been so different on here..

Him not being on the bench really pissed me off .. we have no other striker like him and when we need something different, as we have done for weeks, BR persists with the same old, same old.

Due to work and other commitments, I missed the West Brom and the Hull game so the level of angst I'm feeling isn't as strong as others.
In fact, I am just indifferent about it all which is probably worse.

That was BR problem at the beginning of the season..

It took him to Christmas to change it

No i'm not Blind he plays for Man Utd. Ibe put in one good cross when Henderson's shot was saved but apart from that Brady had him in his pocket.

Ibe was the only one going to the touchline creating space and going past players on the wing, they doubled up on him creating more space. Compare his contribution to that of fucking Sterling.

I thought Ibe started strongly but faded.
It was like the commentator said, "it looked like Brady figured him out"
He is still learning though so I wouldn't be overly harsh on him.
He is not looking for 100k plus a week after all

I thought Ibe was decent, nothing special. It's difficult for the likes of him and Sterling, and Coutinho. Teams like Hull and West Brom know they can just pack the defence and double up on the wingers, because we've no real threat in the box and they feel no pressure to look for a goal because they know sooner or later we'll just gift them one.

We're the easiest team to play against in the whole fucking league.

Yeah I did. What glasses were you wearing? Stevie Wonders?

Ming made some good punches and a decent save but distribution was lacking, so average.
Markovic wasn't on for long but managed to give away a foul in dangerous area and failed to control the ball in the box allowing the defender to sweep it away for a corner when that was probably one of our best chances of the match. So Poor.

Now let's hear your assessment as to why you think Ming was not Average and Markovic was not Poor ...... or shut the fuck up.

Just because Sterling was shit that doesn't mean Ibe played well. He lost possesion more than anyone in the first half. Admittedly he was trying to go past the fullback but very rarely succeded. As i said i like him as a player but i didn't think he played well tonight.

As usual, Mark makes a valiant attempt at keeping a positive spin on things:

And yet Johnson showed just how to get around that, Ibe did too, Sterling didn't at all - did he even get past his man once ? Never mind get to the by-line. Every match recently is the same .... we seem to spend the whole game trying one/twos to go directly through the centre of the oppositions defence.

I thought we were superb. We controlled possession, our movement was superb, the effort and technical precision was top drawer. All we lacked was a bit of luck in front of goal and we were very unfortunate to concede against the run of play.
