How to keep up with City?

We were so close to quad last season, but faltered in the biggest two comps. City have added two more attackers to their squad, and are likely to add more. We have signed 1st teamer and 2 back up players for now.
Is that enough for us to win the league?

Probably not unless City suffer a dip and we are flawless throughout the whole season again.

If there was 'fair play', or an honest accounting check up, then we'd able to compete with them easily (well we wouldn't as they'd be in the championship after all the point deduction etc) ... but the current reality is that we do our best to be perfect, and if we don't, well ... then we hope they slip up once or twice so we can pip 'em to the league.

Kalvin Phillips deal has been agreed 40-50m.

I'm not sure how I rate him really , interesting to see a guaranteed start forward and what should be a second guaranteed starter as a holding midfielder both join this window , how replacing 1/5th of starting outfield players will impact them etc.

Gives them some running power and aggression that they sometimes lack I guess.

We aren't going to keep up with City during our rebuild, I don't think, unless they fall off again some.

unrest in the team, and some of them not getting on is a possibility.that can fuck a Team up

Yeah, but our team is weaker than last year, and I keep waiting for us to sign a truly remarkable explosive midfield talent, but we continue to ask the same of older and older legs.

I reckon we will do well..I have high hopes this season..im trusting in Klopp
we have loads of potential..
in my humble opinion

We do have a chance ..
anything can happen in football

hope we can turn you doubters into believers 😉
Klopp has been amazing. But we can get another 97 pts and still lose it by a point.

That point will be when we're forced to play AOC again, and we draw 2-2 at home to Brighton again.

There's literally no room for error.

They don’t have room for error too.

I reckon a big say for next season is who can integrate their new striker the quickest

I think the truth is that we had a better team and squad than them last season and should have won the title.

So I don't think we can really blame their money.

Maybe if Salah and Mane hadn't gone so far in the AFCON that would have been enough, but on the other hand City should have beaten us in at least one of the games. And we already let them open a gap before the AFCON anyway.

Guardiola is really good at building teams that just steamroller opponents.

I think about the best I can say about next season is that if we keep it close then maybe we'll have that bit of luck to win it by a point or two rather than lose it.
