[El Nino]

Just saw the video interview of him 'denying' Joe Cole link and he mentioned that he is only here to coach the team. Everything else such as transfers he is letting the likes of Purslow take care of and I find it a little strange. Is it unusual for managers to handle only the coaching aspect and if not have this method been proven to be successful in history?
