He did it in the Eredivisie though, without much in the way of competition. His record in Europe is downright poor and, last but not least, he'd be another younger manager in the Rodgers mould. I wouldn't be dead set against him but I'm not convinced he'd turn out to be an improvement in the long run.

There's about 5 or 6 clubs capable of winning the Eredivisie at the moment. Ajax are not the biggest spenders and hadn't won it in years before he took over. He would be a vast improvement.
