Call me pessimistic but first game in charge being away to OT doesn't fill me with confidence. Nonetheless, glad decision has finally been made and regardless of result tomorrow, we'll be able to face the remainder of the season with optimism!

Right now I cant wait for the Fulham game. Ill forgive the whole squad the United game, but of course I hope....

my expectation for the manu game is liverpool play in a competent manner away from home, anything above and beyond that is a bonus.

Roy is the only Liverpool manager never to win a trophy.
Maybe he'll emotionally turn up in the dressing room in Dublin, proclaiming these guys are 'his players'?

Could be perfect timing. The King getting one over his arch enemy in his own back yard could really give the team and supporters confidence and optimism for the rest of the season. The Phoenix rising from the flames. If we lose, well, we weren't expecting anything else. I think the timing of this has been very deliberate.

one new email...... scm roy's gone

yay thanks very much whoever sent that out!

If Kenny does well and there is a big push from fans/media to get the gig full time do you think it's the best option for the club long term?

Me too, mate. I've written off tomorrow's game - not for fear/lack of ambition but rather, for hope that King Kenny's return can kick off with a bang instead of being 'tainted' with a dismal result 1 day into his job.

should have happened 3 days ago (if not months ago), what can kenny do in a day

ahh well, thank god he's gone anyway

Im looking forward to seeing Kenny's team selection& tactics tomorrow.

It's also strange that there wasn't a peep about this on Twitter prior to the official statement. Usually someone blabs.
There was. Babel was on about it for a half hour before it went official.
yeah, I seen those tweets. But I mean something from a Journo. 'I'm hearing Roy has been sacked' type of tweets. Nothing like that appeared.

Finally! That's two quasi-orgasmic Liverpool moments so far this season, and sadly neither of them came on the pitch.

Do people expect Dalglish to put a stamp on the team by tomorrow ? Laughable

If he does well Stu then he will have proven that he is a good option long term.

Not sure it will happen though

What can Kenny do in a day?

Pick the right team.

Inspire the players with some confidence and belief.

Make them play for the club again, rather than in protest against the shit manager.

Make the supporters turn up and sing again.

Not rub his face forlornly all fucking match and say stupid, unLiverpool things in every fucking press conference.

That'll do for starters...
No. One of the factors which make this appointment the right one is precisely the fact that it's temporary, which will help to lift some of the pressure off him. I wouldn't want him in the hot seat permanently and I very much doubt he himself would either.

Ban Werthers Originals from Anfield

They took their time about it, but I'm pleased with the decision.

I thought a few weeks ago that Roy would bumble around, getting a win here and there and we might finish about 8th or so. But results have got even worse, the fans turned, and it made Roys position untenable.

I don't agree with that at all. This is a short-term solution, and I hope and believe that Kenny is cool with that. It will give us time to find the right man to take us forward, and then Kenny can take his bows as manager for the final time and take up a longer-term, ultimately more powerful position in the higher echelons of the club.

He will put one big stamp on the team, and that is that the fans will be vocal and fully behind them. Thats one thing Roy couldnt do.

Bunny, I said the same for Hodgson.
If the results are good enough then Kenny will deserve a chance to manage us for a longer period of time than four months.

If we somehow incredibly qualified for the Chams league would you be advocating that he still should leave?

If Kenny can salvage anything from this season, I think they'll be enormous fan pressure put on the board to make his appointment permanent.

neiljjones Neil Jones
Ian Rush reportedly to be part of Kenny Dalglish's backroom staff. United and Everton in his first week. Couldn't write it. #LFC
