Henrikh Mkhitaryan - just a smokescreen

He looks like he's quite a good finisher, but he's definately a counter attacking player, does that suit our style?

When its from the journo who broke the Willian and Fernandinho stories, and says Mkhat to Liverpool is from the same source. Then its a bit credible....

Many teams tend to sit quite deep when playing against Shakhtar in Ukraine. I think Mk is comfortable counter attacking as well as playing against teams who defend in numbers, he doesn't need acres of space to cause damage.

Good to hear, it was hard to see that side from the videos I was watching. He does have a very good technique when it comes to finishing though, that much was clear.

As I am still clutching at straws with regards to our chances of landing the one that shall not be allowed to be spelled correctly on here; why has the thread title been changed?

Does anyone know anything or is it because of Oncy's friends in high places?

Has Erïksen signed already then?

Do we buy Fischer too and that's why things are holding up a bit?

So much for Artur's 72-hour time-frame, eh?

I am beginning to think that Oncey was right all along.

..........................or should I say Oncey's source was right
Din, din. dehhhhhhhhhhhhh

Nah, we're after him alright.
Times and Daily Post with updates today, and the Shaktar manager said Mkhat is making a mistake by wanting to join us.

The deal is probably complicated as hell.

Yeah, it doesnt excist... I'll agree on agent talk, but their manager talking about us?!

Liverpool target Henrikh Mkhitaryan warned Reds aren't exactly Real Madrid by his current manager
Red light: Liverpool's move for Mkhitaryan is proceeding painfully slowly

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been warned he’ll be making a big mistake if he joins Liverpool... as the transfer saga hit another stumbling block.

Reports in Russia suggested the highly-rated Armenian midfielder has finally smoothed the way for a £25million switch to the Reds, after an agreement was reached with his Ukrainian club, Shakhtar Donetsk.

There were even suggestions he will fly into England in the next few days, but sources at Anfield insist their main transfer deal of the summer is still some way from completion, as difficult talks with his THREE owners proceed painfully slowly.

And the goal-scoring midfielder’s boss at Shakhtar, Mircea Lucescu, warned him there is still time to reconsider, and that swapping Champions League regulars Shakhtar for a club not even in the Europa League next season isn’t necessarily a step up.

“It is his decision, his desire, but there is still time for him to change his mind, because I think he is making a big mistake,” said Lucescu.j

“I can understand the urge to leave if he has a chance to go to a club that surpasses Shakhtar, like Barcelona or Real Madrid, but not many clubs are beyond our level - not clubs like Liverpool or Tottenham.

“We are a strong club with 50,000 passionate supporters every week, and every year we are fighting for the league, the cups and the Champions League.

“The whole team is helping him become the player he is too, because everyone gives him the chance to show up in the penalty area and score the goals that make him wanted.

“This place is good for him, and he is making a mistake if he thinks there are many teams above this level.”

Mkhitaryan though, seems determined to force a transfer, despite the problems negotiating with third-party owners based in Armenia.

And he has settled on Liverpool, despite late interest from Tottenham and European Cup finalists Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are a lot further down the line in the complicated negotiation process than the other interested parties, and boss Brendan Rodgers is determined to get the man he has made his No.1 transfer target.

I reckon him joining us has been a load of shite since day one, rumours reaching fever pitch based on a load of divs on Twitter knowing nothing but angling that they do.

Im fairly sure someone on here has been saying that *since* day one.

Its a crock of shit.

I think it's obviously real, isn't it? Or are people just being amusing? I can't remember any previous link this strong and persistent and verified by all the soundest people that turned out to be untrue.

Peter/ You don't see that this is Andy's way of dealing with disappointment? After all these years?
Given his stance on this issue, he will be in fap heaven if Mkh signs, and covered in 6CM idolatry jizz if he doesn't.
He's created a win-win fantasy.
Fooking awesome if you can do it.

I think he'll sign by the end of the week. He better be fantastic though, Spurs have pulled a right coup signing Paulinho.

It's all dependant on Suarez going, isn't it ?

It seems pretty solid though for it to be hinging on a departure. Either we've got the money to spend and this is a marquee signing by the club, or we know already that he's off.

Players generally tend to get what they want and Suarez wants to leave so odds are he'll end up leaving.

Its a bit like when "paperwork" held up the Suarez deal while we offloaded Torres

But commoli went on talksport saying how they tried hard to persuade torres to stay and told him how they were bringing suarez to play alongside him. He had no reason to lie seeing as how he was sacked by then.

Youre absolutely right.
However that net result is a lucky by-product of the fact that I genuinely think this is all complete horseshit and its him and his agents doing exactly what Lavezzi did last year.
I dont see anything anywhere to make me believe we are actually into signing this guy.
