I have a vipers' nest of Italy supporters in my family who are giving me all kinds of grief by e-mail and on Facebook.

Anybody got any ideas for ammo to throw back?

During World War II, the Italian tanks were said to have one forward gear and seven reverse gears.

Unfortunately, as a country, it's difficult to think of anything about Italy which isn't incredibly nice.

Except the local youths riding their scooters up and down outside your hotel window all night.

And every place of interest being up 500 steps.
