Have we had a 'who should we sign' thread?

Transfer window opens in 21 days and I havnt noticed any of the usual threads?

Hoillett and Rodellega are out of contract in 2012 so would be buttons in January?

I personally havnt lost faith in any of our signings and a few months isnt enough at all especially under a new manager etc, but a couple of cheapy attacking pick ups wouldnt be bad.

Soccer Saturday was on before and when they were talking about Aston Villa were intimating that Bent may be sold. I'd take him just for his knack of being in the right place at the time, even if the rest of his game is gash.

I used to rate Rodallega, Onky, but I think he's one of those that stands out in highlights, but his overall game leaves a lot to be desired. Plus he seems to be on a bit of a decline after a decent start.

[/quote]Im thinking purely of value in January buddy. He would cost fuck all on an 18 month deal and then spend proper in summer. He knows where the goal is hes just at the worst team around....or one of them. Id rather him than Bent at 15m

I'd stick with what we have. I think we have enough new faces for this season and I still think Downing, Henderson and Carroll will be fine.

I don't particularly want Bent, just thought he'd be a decent option if cheap enough. But yeah £15m is outrageous.

I don't know about Rodallega, though. He plays in the same position as Maxi and Bellamy and Kuyt - just off the main striker. I'd say our current options are better.

I like the possibility of Hoilett though. We'd probably get bummed for price, despite his contract situation.

I'd generally be of the same mind, if it was possible to pick an experienced striker or DM cheaply or on loan I think we'd have to.

I'd love to see us check in on De Rossi's situation too

Our new striker should not be someone who scored 9 goals last season and 0 this season, iow not Rodallega.

Hoillett is a no brainer.

The back up striker is a bit more difficult, but threre are bargains out there who could improve us.

I read that sterling has been a little off the boil this season , not progressed as much as hoped . But obviously he's still very young so there's time to kick on again .

I'd sign Papiss Demba Cisse. 22 goals last season, and 9 so far for the club who is bottom inthe Bundesliga, Freiburg. Was the most efficient striker last season regarding converted chances.

26 years old. Seeing how Demba Ba has found his feet in the Premiership this could be a real star.

He's still finding his feet with the step up.

We need to sort out our problems in the final third. I dont know what the solution with Carroll is, we've spent £35million on a player that's never gonna work for us, and has no re-sale value. Proper shafted ourselves, I don't know how we get out of it.
