Oof.

We can probably expect to see the current team get cancelled as a result of that if today's society is anything to go by.

Here's my list of who I recognise
Hooper
Whelan
Mcmahon
Whelan
Venison
Beardsley
Houghton
Grob
Aldridge
Hanson
Lawrenson
The chubby guy sitting down looking a bit like Bob Carolgees, did he then play for City in 90s? His name escapes me.

Is that Ray Houghton in the Giants uniform ?

What a fucking choice that was by him - he scored a massive goal for Ireland in the Giants stadium.

I wonder who Lawro is meant to be
USSR army officer
The ones I've circled in red are I am guessing Gary Gillespie And King Kenny.
The guy in the sailor outfit looks like Harry Lewis (from Sidemen), unless he has a time macgine it can't be him. The guy next to him on our right looks like Micky Quinn but he never played for the club. So if someone could help with the names of the ones I've circled in blue, i will be forever greatful

Why did we sell Beardsley again?

He was far from done then

It was when Souness came in. He ultimately needed the money to buy new players (some things never change, eh!).

Squads didn't tend to be as big in those days so if he wanted to buy a forward (which he did, in Dean Saunders) then logically he could lose one (Beardsley).

In fairness, I don't think Beardsley had been quite as good in the season before and so it may not have been obvious that he still had so much to offer.

I thought he was banging someones wife.

Though if he was, whoever's wife it was should think long and hard about remaining with a woman who could be banged by that face.
