You not counting Whiston as part of Liverpool?

That's like saying Belgium is part of Holland.

Wow I didn't realise he had only played 17 Prem games for us, he seems to have been involved in the team for years?

meh, we drop points when he starts...

We have managed without Gerrard for so many games in the recent past, that I think we have at last laid to rest the knowalls' theory that Liverpool is a "one-man team!"

Yeah we are, it's just that the one man is Suarez instead.

LOL nice to see everybody singing from the same hymn book.

The fact that Kenny didn't rest Suarez in the Carling Cup match against Stoke would seem to suggest there is something in that idea! 😉

Anyways, we've been through this before.

I think the liverpool team are star struck with gerrard. when gerrard is missing the attack and midfield take more responsibility, when gerrard is on the pitch they tend to give him the ball and expect gerrard to do something amazing with it.

I have long thought that although we obviously want Gerrard to play as many games as possible, there is a silver lining when he doesn't play. The other midfielders tend to play better. That was particularly noticeable with Alonso who always seemed to have his best games when Gerrard was out of the side.

it's only natural to defer to someone as brilliant as gerrard but front to back everyone needs to take responsibility to secure 3 points, the more people that are threat the less predictable we become and therefore harder to keep out.

it's the same with carra, skrtel took more responsibility yesterday with carra missing and had probably (imho) his best game.

Couldn't his best game have coincided with not having Carra on the pitch telling him what to do and where to go; when those instructions could be the opposite of his natural game. Or playing at the RCB slot where he does for country? That's a huge leap you are taking there with Skrtel, spidey. 1+1=3 imo. And it wasn't his best game for us, he's been immense numerous time; the fact that he is criminally underrated on this site always shocks me.

I say it was his best game because he was positioning himself where I expect a CB to position himself and was able to snuff out danger early, he was proactive rather than reactive. normally it's like skrtel is a yard behind the play and therefore has to make last minute lunges to retrive the situation (which annoys the heck out me).

underrated, overrated, whatever. skrtel's positioning is usually suspect but yesterday he read the game well. agger nearly always reads the game well but is made out of cheese.

I just seen a photo of Gerrard on crutches and right leg plaster to the knee - doesn't look good 😱
[/quote]pics please G

Yeah we can cope, just the worst time for him to get injured.
We're playing Chelsea twice and Man C in the coming month.

And no we don't have enough midfielders.

There's Adam, Lucas, Henderson and Spearing. Clearly enough.

See why I want Jovetic and why I went mad when Aqua left.

Confused how a plaster helps an infection

Looks like heavy bandaging to me

TBF that could all be precautionary. That would mean his ankle doesn't move at all & they've been giving him antibiotics through IV.

Just a guess like, but I'm not overly worried.

What a kick in the balls, both for him and us.

Wash your feet, you moody bellend.
