@RedNinja - aside from the stat by @momoWASboss, I agree with you based on my experience of watching Germany in world cups. They are consistently always at the top end of the competition by being better than most but often not quite better than the best.

Take 2002 world cup, they should never have got to the final they did and rightly so lost to the last formidable Brazil side. They got stronger in successive tournaments until they were the best in 2014. Go back further, finalists losers in 82, 86 then winners in 90.

I just hope if we win CL saturday , due to the youth of our side we will continue to dominate in years to come and win more shit.
