Let’s be honest - the manager and players they bring in January will be designed to win an ugly relegation battle and ensure they don’t get relegated.

Then next summer they’ll start the vanity project properly and they’ll likely start by buying older stars that are past their best.

I’m not at all surprised about the Coutinho link - Barca will see this as a great opportunity to shift some high earning shite to ease their financial woes.

If Utd don’t win something or mount a credible challenge - I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Ronaldo flogged to them next season.

Forget the likes of Mbappe, Kane or Haaland going there now - they’re a couple of years away from that.

That’s not to say there isn’t scope for some tasty signings in Jan - if they wanted go really hard, splash big on Ivan Toney, bring in Coutinho, we’d sell Nat Philips for £20m and he’d improve their defence, maybe Traore from Wolves and a few players they might be able to pick up cheap due to end of contract - Lingard, Tarkowski, Moutinho, etc

Those players won’t win them the league or even get them into Europe - but they’ll establish them in the top half and form the basis of a squad to build on.

They should be looking at a few of Chelsea’s “boys that are rented out to other teams” and the likes of Cantwell, etc as well.

They can have Karius if they like too.

This is all a crock of shite. Newcastle was one of the teams I quite liked.
This changes everything.

Open sporting competition between clubs has now become a financial competition between clubs to secure mega-rich backers.

I've no doubt LFC will be traded to mega-rich backers in due course. Trying to compete with fewer resources (because we're 'special') is admirable but it's not a long term strategy.

It's the barcodes this go-round but no doubt there'll be more developments especially as the level of transparency as to who are the real owners and controllers of clubs doesn't seem to concern the authorities.

The guy on the left is Jamie Rueban, was a director at QPR, the guy on the right is PCP Partner and Amanda's Husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi.

Hope that this opens the eyes of the owners (FSG) and they start giving the money to Klopp to start buying players like Jude Bellingham etc before Newcastle start to establish themselves league wise and start to snap up all these young players.
If them bring in three or four of the right players between now and next summer we could see them in the Europa league by the end of next season and maybe a League cup/FA cup final
Remember they don't have to buy players, they can just get them on loan.
I am sure Barca would love to have players on loan and not having to pay thier wages, and Newcastle would love to have quailty players there. Coutinho would be a massive step up on what they have. Imagine both Traore & Saint-Maximin running at a defence an a Ivan Toney spear heading that attack. It may not be a Mane/Frimino/Salah front three but with the right manager at the helm it could be as effective as the Shearer/Ferdinand/ Ginola partnership

Stuck between thinking they'll probably do a Man City and buy everything within a couple of miles and massively regenerate the city so that everyone goes, well yeah Khashogi was asking for it really - and thinking they're an actual sovereign wealth fund which invests in things to make profits. 300 million is an absolute steal in the scheme of things, and they know that with a relatively small investment of another few hundred it'll soon be worth north of a billion.
About right this, we all know the story, and no doubt Boris will take the credit and tell everyone its his promise to regenerate the north.

Yea I always like Newcastle too because of the Keegan years and the fasct that they generally have been one of our whipping boys
Me too, loved Keegan's Newcastle and his City team. just loved Keegan and want to see him do well love both 4-3 games.

Yeah, I don’t usually comment on people’s appearances, but there seems to be something “off” about her.
