There is no right way to deal with it that i can think of..
The facts are undeniable, criminal gangs are profiteering from human trafficking.
There were *protests not that long ago in Liverpool due to hotels being taken over from the back log, no? (Yes I'm aware that the far right used a potential assault as the reason to make it a violent protest)
I'm not saying the govt are blameless, far from it.. 90% of the back log and social unrest is their own doing from dragging their heels.
But c.50k illegal entries that we know about per annum, and rising is a fairly high, no?
So how do you stop that humanely?
Linekar comparing it to Nazi Germany isn't helpful, but he's entitled to his opinion.
Edit - protest rather than riot. It was only one police van burned out.
You probably start by re-opening or just opening more of the safe legal ways for refugees to enter the country - that removes the illegal bit, gives you at least some control and removes a large portion of the people trafficking component.
50k people per year is fuck all.
Some resources put into assessing cases quicker would remove the need to house people in hotels, etc.
There’s plenty of jobs needing filled in the UK - they’ll be net contributing to the exchequer in no time.
The problem is the Tories aren’t even the Tories anymore - Boris purged most of the moderates over Brexit - they’re more like a UKIP party now.
They need the ‘migrant invasion” to create some noise, deflect from the real problems and provide red meat for the nutters.
Sunak or any Tory leader that actually tried to solve the problem would be toast.
Lineker couldn’t have been more reserved in what he said - “reminiscent of Germany in the early 1930’s” - all the Tories have done, thanks to their mates in the media, is gotten people talking about a football presenter for saying fuck all, instead of ripping apart the shite bill they’re trying to push through.
Next stage, when it fails because it’s illegal, is to blame Lineker, lefty lawyers, anyone that disagrees with them… you know the way this goes.
