Gary Lineker and MOTD

They are fucking Nazis. It’s a desperate act of a government who need to play on emotions of a certain demographic to try and win an election next year whilst simultaneously putting lives in danger.

Oh i 100% think they're fash as fuck and it's been a rapid descent to that since a cameron left. I don't want to come in all hot though, so i tried to make a "you know, MAYBE Gary had a point with the pointed language"

Not to make this all politics, but we also fucking KNOW Starmer wouldn't undo any of these legislation as he's a corporate little shyster

Do you agree with the government policy or don’t agree that Lineker likened them to Nazis?
There is no right way to deal with it that i can think of..

The facts are undeniable, criminal gangs are profiteering from human trafficking.

There were *protests not that long ago in Liverpool due to hotels being taken over from the back log, no? (Yes I'm aware that the far right used a potential assault as the reason to make it a violent protest)

I'm not saying the govt are blameless, far from it.. 90% of the back log and social unrest is their own doing from dragging their heels.

But c.50k illegal entries that we know about per annum, and rising is a fairly high, no?

So how do you stop that humanely?

Linekar comparing it to Nazi Germany isn't helpful, but he's entitled to his opinion.

Edit - protest rather than riot. It was only one police van burned out.

The Nazi comparison is always problematic. It's overused and given that it's almost always a massive exaggeration, ends up deflecting away from the original argument. As it has done in this case.

How the fuck are we at the point where its taking TV presenters to be a more viable opposition than the current opposition?

Make Ian Wright shadow minister for health right now
Aye, Rashford put the boot into them harder than any opposition has for years.

BBC has every right to behave this way, it is after all a private organisation and can do what it likes.
Oh wait, no it’s not, it’s funded by the British public and has got it’s fingers in every Tory arsehole going. Wonder how many license payers will now consider a refund?

You probably start by re-opening or just opening more of the safe legal ways for refugees to enter the country - that removes the illegal bit, gives you at least some control and removes a large portion of the people trafficking component.

50k people per year is fuck all.

Some resources put into assessing cases quicker would remove the need to house people in hotels, etc.

There’s plenty of jobs needing filled in the UK - they’ll be net contributing to the exchequer in no time.

The problem is the Tories aren’t even the Tories anymore - Boris purged most of the moderates over Brexit - they’re more like a UKIP party now.

They need the ‘migrant invasion” to create some noise, deflect from the real problems and provide red meat for the nutters.

Sunak or any Tory leader that actually tried to solve the problem would be toast.

Lineker couldn’t have been more reserved in what he said - “reminiscent of Germany in the early 1930’s” - all the Tories have done, thanks to their mates in the media, is gotten people talking about a football presenter for saying fuck all, instead of ripping apart the shite bill they’re trying to push through.

Next stage, when it fails because it’s illegal, is to blame Lineker, lefty lawyers, anyone that disagrees with them… you know the way this goes.

Agree with most of that.. but 50k is not fuck all. Its the size of mid size town per year.

And its more like 1930s Nazi Germany now with the hotels, than the proposals.

It’s all relative - in a country of 65m+ it’s a drop in the ocean.

Apparently there are 43k towns and villages in the uk - spread the load or have it so people have to locate in areas with need.

If the Tories had spent more effort on building infrastructure over their 13 odd years in power instead of obsessing about foreigners, it’d likely be a non-issue.

Of if there wasn’t seemingly an obsession with owning loads of houses to rent out as AirBnB, there’d be plenty of houses for everyone as well.

Be great if they make the call to cancel it tomorrow morning.

Then there's a mad day in the games, 15-0 to Liverpool. Eric Cantona coming back and fly kicking the ghost of Motson. Shit like that. And they can't show it.

Starting to think Cantona won't fly kick the ghost of Motson.

Immigration is a convenient topic to talk about because everything since 2016 or you could argue before has been fucked. The Tories do not want to talk about policing, PPE scandal, cronyism, the slow growth, energy prices etc....
The area they want to focus attention is immigration and Ukraine

I thought Jurgen played it very cool when asked by the wacko's in his post match today.

And of course there was 1 wacko in particular acting like a wack job who couldn't himself to need to ask the question "Would you have given an interview with the BBC today?"
