Fulham v Liverpool - Match Thread

Two things I'd forgotten can happen in football today:

Hoof balls not being defended.
Crosses not being remotely threatening.

The Fulham keeper was taking all the time in the world with the goal kicks. Ridiculous that no time was added nor any yellow card.

Hendo doesn't trust Minamino, count at least three times he could have passed to him and didn't.
That last one Mina was through and Hendo overhits the cross.

Fulham deserved at least the point

Actual thought minamino was pretty good when he came on. Trent was disappointing are we sure he starts against Tottenham?

Hendo's miss when he had all the time in the world to bury it key here. We'd have had 30 mins to win it then. Ah well we'll just have to beat Spurs next week with Philips and Fabs as our CBs.

Again though this is 100% on Klopp. No Jota and TAA had to come off early because he played 90 mins in an absolutely pointless dead rubber. So fucking stupid what on earth was he thinking.

You mean the Spurs that just drew at Palace (and going on the second half Palace could have won it). And why do you think we look lethargic? 12 games for Fulham this season, 22 games for us.
We rotated, only 3 players were fully involved in our midweek, Salah, Fabinho and Trent. We seemed to found that extra energy in the second half, how come? We've started very badly in first half away games this season. There are no proper explanations for it, and we were made to chase the game.

A point isn't a disaster. We just need to learn from this pronto and re-group for Spurs. That was a mental problem, made worse by a mental VAR and a crap ref.

Someone seriously needs to use that match and analyse every single incident where VAR could, by this season's standards, have intervened, and highlight the appalling lack of consistency. You just can't play football when there's that degree of ambiguity. It's absurd. Why is a tackle inside the box, that llooks fine, scrutinised via about 30 replays, while a tackle outside the box, that looks a clear foul but is ignored by the ref, left well alone? Why is a player falling down in the box analysed in one instance and not the other? If you're ignoring the 'clear and obvious' rule, then at least treat all ambiguous incidents the same!

And Jota is now out for the foreseeable future. Again 22 games played to Fulham's 12. Our horrendous injury list (now 10 with Matip) means rotation has been far less than should have been expected.
