1008 GMT: Valencia forward David Villa has given the clearest indication yet that he is prepared to move to the Premier League. Manchester United and Liverpool have both been linked to the Spain striker. (Spanish Newspaper AS)

"I like the Premier League a lot. There are a lot of very important teams in England, who play very good football," said Villa.

"It's the league I follow the most, along with La Liga - and I've got a lot of friends playing there."

Maybe Purslow should enquire whether they will take some oxygen and grass as part payment for him. We could throw in a few leaves too. And Plessis to sweeten the deal.

Yeah, we're offering empty promises in return for the player & United are apparently offering some seats in exchange for him, it seems Old Traffords new owners wont miss them.

I'd do that.

There's rumors around Barca that Zlatan won't be there next year. Guardiola isn't happy with him and wants to bring in a replacement. If these are true, I doubt we'll see Villa leave La Liga.

What? Guardiola isn't happy with the "greatest striker on earth" (c. Numerous idiots on here)?

What a turn up for the books eh?

Can't be bothered to find the names but I'm sure a couple of the "loons" did. I'm just in a very sarccy mood today!

Oh alright then, here's one. That Red-Maradona was always banging on about him. Read his last sentence, apparently he goes with Guardiola's opinion....

On another forum a gent is saying that we have signed DV on a pre-contract to join us after the WC...

He seems sincere, and has not vanished into thin air, so we will see... 8)

This proves nothing we didn't already know: red maradona is an idiot.

Haha, yeah, let's trust some rumours instead of listening to Guardiolas consistent praise of him and reading his goals per game ratio in Barcelona.

Btw, I really don't even think he's the best striker on earth, probably not even top 5, but he's certainly not shit.

If DV came to England he would be in the blue of Chelsea or Man City.

If true, this must be the worst transfer in terms of cost. What was it? Eto plus 30m? Easily 50m.

How could we sign David Villa on a pre-contract?

Maybe he's talking about Darius Vassell? That sounds far more reasonable.

Non-LFC related but the kid Weiss who has just gone on loan from Man City to Bolton will IMO prove a huge hit for Bolton. I'm surprised he hasn't had more of a look-in at City despite their wealth of midfielders.

Zlatan won't leave Barca, thats a bullshit story.

Whats not to be happy with? 11 goals in 16 La Liga games, top of the league and made the knock out stages in the CL comp.

Ok - you're right. I mean, they kicked out these Cameroonian dude last year after he scored 500 goals and was popular with everyone, and praised by the manager. But yes, nothing is going wrong with Zlatan and Barca. Nothing at all! 🙂

They'd been trying to get rid of Eto'o for a while, so I don't think you can use popularity with 'everyone' as an argument. Goalscoring maybe.

This guy I talk to is usually on the 'ball' ... He's been right recently about Canales, Maxi (he called both before they even appeared in the media). He didn't say Villa would replace him (That's me saying 'maybe') but he said that all isn't well between Pep & Zlatan.

You dont rate Ibrah? just look at his record at every club he goes to 🙂 he is a winner! you just know shit all about the game 🙂

That's right. I mean, it must be, right..?

It couldn't be that, rather than thinking he's rubbish, many of us here feel that he's good but very overrated by many on here... Your "look at the record of his clubs" is a little stretch, don't you think? It's not like he took Luton Town to the title. Juve, Inter and Barca were all quite good to begin with, I think.

I think you should use the internet a lot less.

I rate Ibro, but he's not as shit as most people in Engand make out, nor as good as his hard-core fans suggest. He's got to prove more to be named amongst the very top strikers in world football. That said, he's got the perfect platform at Barca.

Pep said he's leaving sooner rather than later anyway. I doubt Zlatan goes anywhere. Him and Messi are brilliant together. He isn't as good as Eto'o and he is not a top 3 striker but he fits perfectly into that team. Goals from everywhere with a clear and fluid attacking style and an ability to change it up; its da future.

Wasn't it Guardiola who pushed and pushed to bring him to Barca?

It'd be pretty poor on his part if this early into Zlatan's Barca career, he's decided that he doesn't want him around anymore. Anyways, as said, I guess we have to see if Guardiola himself is sticking around before anything else.

Also, why does someone have to go on about how he's shit or overrated every fucking time his name is mentioned?

because he is an enigma, he has every bit of talent he will ever need but displays a lazy nonchalant attitude while failing to ever come up big in a big game. Imo this is mostly because he hasn't really had many big games. No cup runs or international glory. The succeed or go home situations that easily define a career. He's coasted to a few Serie A titles and we know he's had important goals but there just isn't a single stand out performance from Zlatan. He desperately needs a few good CL runs with Barca.
