Cunt deserves his own thread.

I'm sure he's already got 20 like, but he's that fucking good he deserves another one. From me.

He is fucking quality. All over the place quality.
  • 12 goals and 6 assists in his last 20 PL games.
  • No striker in Europe's top 5 leagues has created more chances than him (15) this season.
  • 61 goals/assists in his last 90 games.
  • Our top scorer in 2016 with 13 goals.
And someone called him a "flabby pointless melt" a few weeks back. Honestly, you don't know football if you don't rate this guy.

I think hes great. But like MOST great players he occassionally plays shite.
Hes a buzzsaw though. So good a signing by B.Rodge.

Yeah, he's boss. Was genuinely worried if he was any good at all for a while, then worried if he turned up and played well often enough, now he's just ace.

Well yeah the whole squad looked a bit meh this time last year. Most players have improved under Klopp, non more so than this dude.

He's got sublime technique. He's also not so much cocky as sort of super-exuberant - he just seems to enjoy being really good and making it count. And he's clever, really industrious and fascinating to watch. On top of all that, he's going to get even better.

If only he scored goals

I think the main issue is that he doesnt score enough goals as a main striker and only score when a main striker plays with him. Mind you that the main striker that played with him has yet to score any goals, but it doesnt seem to be a problem for that main striker. Only for Firmino when he plays main striker and the team shit goals.... No wonder that Klopp doesnt understand this. Noone does!

He gets stick for his perceived lack of pace, but I think he is plenty quick.

He's got great technique, works his arse off and is clinical as well as creative - what more would you want in a striker!?

And he is a striker. Whether you like it or not, that his is position now 95% of the time in Klopp's view.

I'd like to see who's bettered him in that position over the last 20 games.

He's been our top scorer for the last year, and he's only played maybe half of those games as a striker, it's a bogus argument from a guy who can't admit he got it horribly wrong about a player (not you).

If you start dissing a player after a few games i know that player will come good. I remember you shitting on coutinho when he first arrived

And Henderson.

On Coutinho, it was nothing to do with his skill or whatever and it wasn't after a few games, it was on seeing him. He was fucking tiny and I couldn't see how he'd cope. He's strong as a fucking ox. Wrong again.

I like him a lot. He had a poor opening 45 yesterday where nothing he did came off, but was back to his usual excellent standard in the second.

He scored 10 goals in the Premiership last season.

That's not enough if you are the main striker at Liverpool, or any club who wants to win the title.

And it's pretty much accepted that he is far better playing a support role to the main striker, rather than pretending to be that himself.

Let's not start getting all giddy here. He's scored 13 league goals, ever. Some of the overrating of Firmino is risible. You'd think he was almost Suarez level given some of the happy-clapping fanboyism on display here

He needs to play with Sturridge or a proper striker. That is clear. He hasn't the pace or finishing quality to make the space and score the required goals on his own.

His job, at risk of stating the obvious, is not to be a 'main striker'. Is it so hard to understand? He is a linchpin in an attacking system rather than someone at the apex of all our attacks. It is this that makes us so hard to stop, as Coutinho, Mane, Lallana or Firmino might find themselves in the number nine position. He has been simply excellent at doing his job.

He was also injured at the beginning of last season, didn't play as a main striker under Rodgers (in fact was played out of position by Rodgers) and was out of the team by the time Klopp took charge.

The majority of Firmino's goals and assists have been scored since October last year, take out the games played under Rodgers and his stats look something like 13 goals and 7 assists in 23 starts - so better than 1 in 2! Difference being that Klopp has him central the majority of the time and in and around the penalty box where he excelled for Hoffenheim.

There is no context whatsoever in the post to which you replied.

Sturridge doesnt score when playing with Firmino... Why should he play?

Spot on. He's brilliant. I'm gonna claim being one of his earliest supporters on here.

It's rather obvious though isn't it? We are a better team with him leading the line ... full stop.

TBH the way Mr.Rodgers played him (i.e.rarely, and out of position on the wing) made and still makes me wonder whether he was Rodgers' choice at all. I can't help wondering whether it was actually Klopp's wish list he was on, and whether he was signed in preparation for Klopp's arrival.
