This quote from the article striked me odd:

"If he plays 25 games for me this season I think he'll get 15 goals"

Am I the only one who found his way of wording quite bizarre? "25 games for me", who talks like that?
If Rafa had said something like that instead of "us" or "Liverpool" I'd feel disgusted.

He did say "play for Liverpool" and not "play for me" but I see your point,
and I still think both comments are inappropriate.

Well all I can say is some people read far too much into what managers say. I'm quite sure Ferguson didn't plan to say it like that. It's just how people talk.

Why?

If it's some piss poor manager I can see your gripe but certain managers through achieving so much, deserve a level of respect and control at a club. I think it's safe to say that Fergie is one of them, unfortunately.
