He did say "play for Liverpool" and not "play for me" but I see your point,
and I still think both comments are inappropriate.
 
Well all I can say is some people read far too much into what managers say. I'm quite sure Ferguson didn't plan to say it like that. It's just how people talk.
 
Why?

If it's some piss poor manager I can see your gripe but certain managers through achieving so much, deserve a level of respect and control at a club. I think it's safe to say that Fergie is one of them, unfortunately.
 
Ferguson is Manchester United. No question.
It is his gaf from top to bottom with every single member of staff (football related) working there would have been appointed by him.

Why should Fergie be any different ?
