FC Midtjylland v Liverpool - Match Thread - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

It was probably one of the worst matches in regards to VAR. It took to long and the information was all
over the place. Offside/handball or offside/penalty. Nobody knew what the hell was going on.

The communication was bad as was the amount of time the decisions took, but they did get everything correct. There's been far worse days for VAR. The Everton match springs to mind.

I've given up on Origi.
Minamino isn't getting the ball because he's running around on the pitch like a headless chicken.
Jota messed up too many chances with bad passing.

Can't fualt what you have said, althought in fairness I believe that Minamino is trying hard to make himself avaible to recieve a pass which rarely comes

LOL at Donny Reid blaming the entire team for Minamino's shitness, but not Minamino.

He can be as good as Messi or Ronaldo, If he does not get the ball then he can do very little to show that....

If he had been given the ball and chances Origi had in the game I am sure he would have created chance and worked the keeper

I've said before there should be a one replay rule for VAR - if you can't see that a decision needs changing after the benefit of one slo-mo replay, then it's not clear and obvious, end of. There should also be a one minute rule - no replay takes more than a few seconds, one minute should be ample to concentrate minds and force a decision. It's because they appear to have unlimited time for their deliberations that encourages all of this counting of angels on a pinhead. If a VAR intervention goes over 60 seconds, sorry, you go back to the game regardless. Tonight we had 8 minutes added time mainly because of the ridiculous faffing about of VAR. That's simply intolerable.

This should all have been obvious from the start. I just don't have any confidence now in the officials ever implementing it in a common sense way, sadly. I'd rather it was scrapped, but doubt it ever will be.

Either those opponents had an exceptionally clumsy evening or else they actually practice stamping on players' feet, because they must have tried it about ten times during the game and made contact about four times. We'll be lucky if no one ended up with swelling and bruising after that strange episode.

Yeah, it's the other 10 players' fault. It's all a giant conspiracy because Minamino is too good for them, so they pass to everyone else except him.

Maybe he's not making the right runs? Maybe his positioning is shit? Terrible anticipation? Maybe it's a combination of the above and his teammates not wanting to pass to him...

...because he's shite.

I'm sure he would've worked the keeper with one of those famous rasping drives that he has made his trademark.

I wouldn't be surprised if his foot snapped off when attempting a shot he's that weak. He has all the strength of a wet lettuce. A dead, rotten one.

It is a bit weird tho isn't it? I mean we all saw him take the piss out of us at Anfield a short while ago, and everyone in Europe seemed to think he was a bargain. What's happened?

He had the game of his life, like Cameron Jerome, Yannick Bolasie and countless other slugs did before him

But he was highly rated wasn't he? At least that's what was said on here. I suppose we shoulda guessed when they were being all super friendly about giving us him for next to nothing

He carried/passed the ball OK when he had it but looked well off the pace overall. I'll be shocked if he's selected for Fulham because he doesn't look ready.

Yeah, he was well off and most annoyingly kept giving the ball away in the first half. Was infuriating as was much better agains lt Leicester on first game back from injury.

Was unable to get a connection for 2nd half so didn’t see how he did as was at kids footy training. Issues with VPN I guess when was on EE on mobile. Couldn’t also get any of FFF match stream links working on mobile working as it kept spawning popups, assume just me.

We all want Minamino to succeed, and he will of course be given more time to prove himself/adapt, but he is a fucking fart, just bounces off everyone he tries to press.

Curtis Jones is above him in the pecking order now, and unless he really steps up whenever he get's his next chance that is not going to change, Jones is showing a maturity and consistency in his performances that we have not seen from Minamino.

Didn't have any connection issues - as always found a link via Total Sportek.

I thought he was worse in the second half. I've still got high hopes for him and just assume this was a fitness issue.

Jones has been a breath of fresh air, and absolute delight when we needed one the most. He's right up there fighting for a starting slot now, no longer just a squaddie.
