Fantastic derby, shame about the result.

First 45, we fucking bossed them about that pitch like anything and we really should've bagged 2-3 and just ended the game there and then.

Second 45 well they were half decent but we collectively had a few mind dumps. Naming no names as the culprits are far too obvious.

Either way we achieved what was possibly over all a fair result with captain fantastic and carra and with certain shit bags in the side.

Im surprising positive about it.

Promote the lad from rangers and fuck off Skrtel to Germany or wherever though.

Bye now.

A long way to go, but there were more encouraging signs today. We were more positive and a lot less boring than of late. Plenty of chances on goal.
A event derby......

There were encouraging signs in the first half against Blackpool aswell, but we're brittle and as soon as we get a setback we bottle it. We did play some good football today though.

We also pulled ourselves together and got our mojo back after the blueslime were gifted that second goal by Dowd, and without Gerrard and Carra too. Under Roy that would have been game over.

What did Dowd do for the goal? I thought there was no controversy? Dowd just allowed play to continue after kelly hit the ground hard. I think it's harsh to call out the ref on that..

At least for the first goal, i didn't think it was a corner in the first place.

Meh, it could have been interpreted as a head injury - or worse, given he fell and landed awkwardly on his neck, he looked, from the point of view of everyone (bar the blue cunts) watching, like he'd been knocked out cold.

We certainly haven't had luck on our side. I hope we continue to show fight as we have, i'm sure the results will follow...

Its heartening to see that we had some fight in us after going behind.

Tighten up the defence and we'll be fine.

A few wins would do wonders for our confidence.

Just read Kenny's post match interview and I've got to say, he knows how to play it to a tee. It's excellent and refreshing to hear someone so assured and who knows how to say the right things without inviting pressure from the media.

It was a spirited Derby with both teams looking to attack and it sounded like a terrific atmosphere. I don't know about a terrific advert for the game though. There was a lot of long ball play at times and more industry and passion than quality a lot of the time.

A loss would have been very harsh on us, and I thought it was a good performance.

"We've got a couple of senior players who the supporters haven't exactly seen eye to eye with. We've got to try and rebuild them. If we can get Christian Poulsen and Paul Konchesky back on side then that makes the squad that bit deeper.

"Christian played very well at Blackpool and Paul will get an opportunity as well."

I'd prefer them to make a well a bit shallower.

Everyones talking about Wilson, but what do we really know about him?
I bet no one on this forum can tell for certain if he's better than Skrtel or not.

I'm in no means defending Skrtel for that horrendous display today but we have to be realistic. He isn't going to be replaced. Pacheco was on the bench today but Daglish probably didn't want to gamble.

From what I've seen during the short spell Daglish has been in charge is that he isn't exactly making any risky decisions. Playing Kelly on the right and Johnson on the left isn't a gamble because it's evident based on previous games that Kelly is good enough. Johnson is an experienced player so putting him on the left isn't gonna make a difference.

However the introduction of Spearing was courageous but does he have any other options except the inept Poulsen?

I really wanted Daglish to start Pacheco today, Rodriguez didn't offer anything during the game which was expected.

Shelvey is a terrible choice for an impact sub. Why not Pacheco or even Babel?

We've got a real gem in Suso. He deserves a chance.

We know more about Wilson than we do of Suso though don't we?

Wilson played in the Champions League several times, and (albeit low quality) could regularly be seen in SPL games.

You're probably right.

I don't have to tell you that the center half position is probably the most or one the most important postions on the field. Testing a player there is much more risky than playing an attacking midfielder or a winger like Suso. Granted I've only seen Suso against 18 year olds or reserves but he seems to be on an entirely different level.

I'd rather move Kelly to CB and Johnson back to RB. Put Aurelio on the left and we're sorted.

It's DaLglish.

It's amazing that we can't get even our own legends' names right. The number of people who still refer to Bill Shankley is unreal.

Ha, didn't read that properly and was about to correct your spelling of Shankly 😉

;D

There is less risk in playing Wilson when the player he would be replacing is making massive errors on a continual basis. Playing in the reserves is only going to get him so far. He looks assured already which is a great sign.

When talking about great advert for the game, think the league leaders deserves a spcial mentioning.

Today again they played out a through and through unsportmanlike performance. Just a few examples:

Rafael getting getting fouled and he is up a second after urging the ref to book his opponent.

Vididc getting away with pulling down Van der Vaart in the penalty area. Is whistled doing the same outside the area after and responding by heavily abusing the linesman.

Rafael sent off and responce to abuse the ref together with Rooney. Exact same foul he was urging the ref to book earlier.

Timewasting throughout the whole second half. Noone interested in taking throw ins, VDS spending 35 seconds each goal kick.

Vidic sitting on his arse delaying 3 minutes of play in the last five mins, with the ref only adding 4.

Fergie furious of the clear sending off.

And the list could gone on.

Unfortunately that's not going to change until Ferguson retires. The authorities lost the psychological initative to him long ago, and they're not going to dare to do anything about all this until he's no longer around to challenge them.
