Any formation that has Gerrard in central midfield generally ends up being a bit shit. Gerrard needs to be in the final third. Shelvey should have started in central midfield in place of Henderson. And Maxi in place of Downing. And Kuyt in place of Carroll. And Enrique in place of Carra.
